Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

EBR-14 Camo Challenges & Tips for Completing Them

By
Craig Robinson

The EBR-14 is the M14 rifle, packing with it some stable recoil, a solid rate of fire, and two-hit kills across most maps. It’s quite an enjoyable weapon and has some decent challenges. Here is a look at the EBR-14 camo challenges in MW2, and tips, tricks, map strats and loadouts to make it easier.

Here is one of the loadouts you can use to progress through the EBR-14 camo challenges in MW2.

MW2 EBR-14 Camo Challenges Tips

Here are the EBR-14 camo challenges in MW2

Challenge Requirement Camo reward
Challenge 1 Get 50 kills with the EBR-14 Sandstorm Digital
Challenge 2 Get 30 kills while crouched with the EBR-14 Moss
Challenge 3 Get 20 kills while mounted with the EBR-14 Zebra
Challenge 4 Get 10 double kills with the EBR-14 Sunlit Croc
Gold Challenge Get three kills without dying ten times Gold Camo
Platinum Challenge 25 longshots with the EBR-14 Platinum Camo
Polyatomic Challenge 25 headshots with the EBR-14 Polyatomic
Orion Challenge Complete 51 Polyatomic challenges Orion Camo

The great thing about the first, second and third challenges is that they are very easy. The fort two will come naturally, just as long as you remember to crouch while you ADS. Meanwhile, the mounted kills can be easily done on most maps, whether mounted on a ledge or window for some old-fashioned marksman sniping. Or, you can go closer range on maps like Crown Raceway and wall bounce with the mounted button for some close-range double-tap kills.

The only somewhat hard challenge is the double kills. However, to make it easier, we recommend hardpoint or headquarters. The hardpoint and headquarters tend to have high-traffic areas of the map. You can play the site, or watch the few places that cause players to funnel. These are ways to improve your chances of finding double kills, which are simply two kills within a few seconds of each other.

EBR-14 Gold Camo Challenge and Higher Mastery Level Challenges

Use your preferred playstyle so far to complete the EBR-14 gold challenge.

When you get onto the EBR-14 Gold Camo Challenge, you now need to get yourself three kills within a life using the weapon. You can quickly grab this using your preferred style of play. You can go to ground war and pick off enemy players at a 50-100 meter distance using a scope, or do that on longer range 6v6 maps. Perhaps you prefer the iron or reflex scope with closer angles two taps? Do that. Maybe you like covering the objective and getting fast-paced kills that way? Whatever works for you, go ahead and do it. You’ll find this weapon doesn’t take too long to get gold.

EBR-14 Platinum Challenge

Moving onto the EBR-14 Platinum Camo Challenge, you now need to get longshots. The trick here is specifying your weapon for better bullet velocity and aiming stability. The attachments we recommend are:

  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Muzzle: ZLR Talon or Polarfire-S

These three attachments are good enough for bullet velocity, making your shots land easily against longer distance targets. You can also opt to an optic of choice, and an ADS-improving barrel, since these attachments negatively affect your ads speed. If you have the TAQ-M at level 11, you can unlock the XTEN Angel-40 holographic, which has a built-in range finder. It can help you sus out the long shot range kills as you move around the map and check angles, without having to research the maps all too well. You should get this attachment, as you can use it on many weapons.

Now it’s time to go to maps to do it. The Marksman rifles only need 38 meters or so to count as long distance, so you don’t need anything too magnified to get enemy kills. The 6v6 maps where these are possible are:

  • El Asilo, such as the rock near A on Domination, all the way over the car on the dirt road and beyond. The radio tower works too, if you cover the north direction, as does the building to the southwest side of the map overlooking the storage yard, and the swing dirt mound section.
  • The Raceway is good, especially if you can get prone on the fire engine and cover B site on Domination in front of the pit area of the map. The broadcast trucks side of the map works too, but they favor snipers a lot better.
  • Embassy, especially the tennis court and front gate area. You can also get a good prone spot on the roof area of rear gate, near the cafeteria roof. This allows you to cover the car park, with the 35-meter range being the gates to the main embassy building. You may need to stand further back to get long shot kills on the door, or look for snipers further away towards the rear car park to the default spawn area.
  • Taraq is also good if you’re covering north-to-south angles, especially the ruin area towards the building with the second-floor outdoor sniping area, which you can use to cover any objectives that go in that direction.
  • Hotel offers some good long-range angles near the Patio / Parking boost spot, overlooking the Chandelier hallway to the check-in room and vice versa.
  • Sena Border Crossing: The map has many long-distance angles, especially on the freeway area. Getting on one of the back buses or emergency vehicles and watching the middle area should count as long-range kills, as does climbing the burning bus and the fire engine in the middle of the map facing either side of the map.
  • Invasion modes: The Invasion maps have long-range areas, especially if you get elevated. Try these maps and get long-range kills, but just be wary of snipers getting long-range kills. You may need to put an optic onto your weapon if you go for invasion, as its easy to fight enemies around 70 meters and beyond.

EBR-14 Polyatomic challenge

Lastly, we have the EBR-14 Polyatomic Camo Challenge in MW2. Now you need to get 25 headshots. This is, once again, better to do based on your own playstyle. If you found it easier sniping enemy snipers on Ground War, jump back into that playstyle and build. Meanwhile, the close-range reflex sight playstyle will have you hunting headshots in area you can easily line heads up. Examples include hunting snipers where their head is exposed on the ledges or windows, such as Las Almas’ market overwatch areas, or Taraq’s window and stairway spots. You can also go play the tight angles on Farm 18, Fortress, Crown Raceway, and even Hotel for headshots. Mounting up will also be easier to avoid recoil and get those headshots if you miss the first shot. Overall, there are many ways to get this, so go with what you prefer and enjoy doing the most.
