In !Conan Exiles, you’re essentially thrown in at the deep end, with the game tasking you to survive with little but your bare fists to your name. To ensure survival, you’ll naturally need to gather as many resources as you can, which not only means food and water but also finding the necessary materials to craft weapons.

One such material is "Brimstone" iconBrimstone, a vital ingredient for a plethora of crafting recipes. However, as with all things in Conan Exiles, you’re not exactly guided as to where to find Brimstone leaving many players wondering.

This guide will take you through just that, providing Brimstone locations in Conan Exiles as well as a bunch of different uses for this resource so you can get to work making what you can to fend off any hostiles.

What is Brimstone in Conan Exiles and what do Brimstone Nodes Look Like?

As just alluded to, Brimstone is a resource that you’ll want to be collecting, and a lot of it for that matter. We’ll cover its uses more in-depth below, but essentially you’re going to need it to combine with other ingredients to create Steel.

Out in the wild, you’ll be able to identify Brimstone nodes from their yellow hue, almost looking like sandstone in the real world. As you would expect, you’ll be using a Pick to mine it, and it will be collected into your inventory like any other resource.

Where to Find Brimstone in Conan Exiles

If you’re struggling with where to find Brimstone don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

The primary spawns for Brimstone are in and around cave entrances and as touched on, are yellow in nature, so quite distinguishable compared to other mineable resources. Examples of caves that have Brimstone spawns are "Gallaman's Tomb" iconGallaman’s Tomb, "Sinner's Refuge" iconSinner’s Refuge, and "Executioner's Entrance" iconExecutioner’s Entrance.

Here is where they can be found on the map:

While cave entrances are your best bet for safe farming of Brimstone, there is also an abundance of the ore in the Shattered Springs section of the map. The Brimstone here looks slightly different as it will be almost like stalagmites growing from the watery floor. However, if you choose to attempt to gather Brimstone from this region, you’re going to be hit with a stacking debuff due to the toxic fumes in the area.

This can be mitigated by equipping something like a Sandstorm Breathing Mask, but you will first have to have some "Steel Bar" iconSteel Bars in your inventory to craft, which is exactly why you’ll be collecting Brimstone in the first place, so you may not have reached this point yet.

Moreover, you can actually secure yourself some Brimstone from defeating certain enemies. These include the likes of "Rocknose" iconRocknose or Sandbeasts, but we’d definitely recommend staying away from this as your Brimstone farming method as it not only yields you much less of the resource but also could result in your death if not careful.

Brimstone Locations - Jungle Biome

In the jungles of the Eastern side of the Exhilded Lands you should be able to find enough Brimstone to cover your needs. Most of the Brimstone nodes here are to the East of the "The Sunken City" iconThe Sunken City, so are about as far to that portion of the map as you can get.

You will have to head to the fear East of the map to get at the Brimstone nodes in the Jungle biome.

Speaking of maps, if you want to track Brimstone down with a little more precision, visit our Interactive Map of the Exiled Lands.

Where to Find Brimstone in the North

We see a lot of people struggling to find Brimstone Nodes in the north of the Exiled Lands map and there is good reason for that. There are no locations in the North, as yet discovered, that yield this resource, so if you think you might need some while in colder climes, you would be as well to take enough with you.

There is the opportunity to farm Brimstone from Rocknoses should you find any, but the drop rate is not great.

Brimstone Locations - Isle of Siptah

If you have been playing the Isle of Siptah DLC and are struggling to find enough Brimstone for your needs, you can always check out our Isle of Siptah Interactive Map and drill down to the locations where Brimstone is present.

Brimstone is plentiful in the central regions of the Isle of Siptah.

Brimstone Uses in Conan Exiles

Once you’ve hoovered up as much Brimstone as you can, the main concoction you’re going to want to make is "Steelfire" iconSteelfire. This is formed by combining it with "Tar" iconTar and is the key component in converting "Iron Bar" iconIron Bars to Steel Bars.

To do any of this, however, you’ll need to have built a Firebowl Cauldron to initially craft the Steelfire, as well as a "Furnace" iconFurnace to then forge the all-important Steel. This can take time, especially if you’re starting from scratch, but is worth it for the weapon gains alone.

There are a few other uses Brimstone is vital for such as making various Dyes, "Dragonpowder" iconDragonpowder, and enhancing various Guardian armor sets, but these pale in importance compared to the Steel Bar creation.

Can You Make Brimstone in Conan Exiles?

If you could make your own Brimstone that would make life too easy, and Conan Exiles is not about that. Unfortunately any Brimstone you need will have to be discovered by yourself, as it is not a resource that can be crafted.
