There are a number of cheats that can be unlocked by completing various numbers of Abstergo challenges. Every 5 challenges that are completed will unlock the next cheat. There are 70 challenges in total and 14 cheats that can be unlocked.
Once you have unlocked a cheat, you can activate it via the ‘cheats’ option located inside the Abstergo Challenges menu. Note that whilst these are activated, you will not be able to earn achievements/trophies (except for a few exceptions that have us use the cheats as challenges) and will be unable to save the game.
Here is a list of the cheats in the game, their effect/s and how many Abstergo challenges are required to be completed before they are unlocked.

| Cornucopia | 10 | Shay and the Morrigan have infinite ammo. |
| Fairy Gunpowder | 15 | Weapons on land and sea no longer require loading. |
| Gray Men | 20 | Shay cannot be detected unless he provokes enemies. |
| Master of the Wind | 25 | When sailing, the wind is always at the Morrigan’s back. |
| Burn Them! | 30 | Burning oil is much more damaging. |
| Timeless | 35 | You can lock the day/night cycle to one of four different settings. |
| Lord of Thunder | 40 | Upon entering combat storms appear and killing enemies causes thunder and lightning effects. |
| Big Mouth | 45 | Shay will occasionally say cheesy lines. |
| Hunted | 50 | You will be constantly harassed by bounty hunter ships whilst sailing. |
| Endurance Challenge | 55 | Neither Shay, nor the Morrigan are able to regenerate health |
| Wanted | 60 | Guards will constantly detect Shay as if he is in a wanted zone. |
| Veterans | 65 | Enemies will be upgraded to more advanced versions. |
| Cailleach’s Gift | 70 | This cheat transforms all of your crew members into a Skeleton Crew. Pirates of the Caribbean style! |
