An oddity for a top-tier weapon in Diablo 2: Resurrected, Titan’s Revenge is not prohibitively expensive nor difficult to find, whereas most top-tier weapons are high end elite weapons (like Windforce) or runewords (like Ice). By comparison, Titan’s Revenge is an exceptional item that can be dropped readily by Nightmare Mephisto, making it fairly easy to find. Also noteworthy is the fact that, while ideally you’d want a Titan’s Revenge with as close to the maximum +200% Enhanced Damage roll as possible (or better yet, an ethereal Titan’s Revenge), even a poorly rolled Titan’s Revenge is still servicable enough.
Simply put, Titan’s Revenge is a necessary component for the [Javelin Amazon]. Without this weapon, there’s precious little reason to even start running one. Once you obtain this weapon, however, it’s +2 Amazon Skills, +2 Javelin and Spear Skills, high base damage, Life Leech, and bonuses to Strength and Dexterity make it an ideal weapon to use for the rest of the game. As mentioned earlier, ethereal versions are especially valuable, as Titan’s Revenge has the “Replenishes Quantity” modifier, making an ethereal version nothing but upside.
Despite the value of a high Enhanced Damage and ethereal roll, most of the utility provided by this weapon comes from its other mods, with its base damage only affecting physical attacks - a relatively minor aspect of the Lightning Fury Javazon build. Granted, you’ll notice and appreciate higher physical damage when it comes to leeching Mana and Life from your attacks, and when you have to put down the odd lightning immune enemy, but this is another example of not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good - a mediocre Titan’s Revenge is still probably a better weapon than any other unique or rare you can get your hands on.
