An excellent helmet for any character who deals damage with their own weapons, the Vampire Gaze has diminished in value somewhat with patch 1.10, which introduced many new, more powerful uniques. Still, it’s one of the rare items that grants Damage Reduction, and it also has dual leech, greatly boosting the survivability of its wearer. Failing that, it’s also a great item to put on a mercenary.
Nightmare Mephisto and later bosses can drop it with some regularlity.
