While Duriel’s Shell is relatively unattractive for most players, as mercenary armor it’s one of the best, most easily obtainable midtier options available. This is due to its bonuses to Strength, All Resistances (especially Cold Resistance) and the always-useful “Cannot Be Frozen” property. There’s better out there, but it’s hard to say anything bad about such a common piece of armor you can strap onto your mercenary in Nightmare difficulty and keep using throughout Hell difficulty.
As with most midtier gear, Nightmare Mephisto can be farmed for Duriel’s Shell.
Duriel’s Shell is one of the better, cheaper armors you can equip your mercenary with.
