All Virtue Rewards in Like a Dragon Ishin

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Not long into the game, you will learn about a mechanic called Virtue. Upon reaching Chapter 2, you will find yourself in Fushimi and before being able to really explore the place, you will run into some guys harassing a Shinto Priest. After defeating them, the Shinto Priest will teach you about Virtue.

How to Earn Virtue in Like a Dragon: Ishin

As you do many things in Like a Dragon: Ishin, you will undoubtedly see that you’ve earned some Virtue. Basically, you will earn Virtue by doing good deeds, like purchasing goods from a store, or eating at a restaurant. The Virtue you receive from doing these are pretty miniscule, so you’re not going to build up much of a stock of Virtue from these. You can also earn Virtue by completing Substories, of which, there’s a lot of them in the game. However, the biggest amounts of Virtue will be from something called the Diligence Records. Think of this as a list of in-game achievements, like speaking to people/animals a certain number of times, or defeating a set amount of enemies in a specific manner.

You will unlock the Diligence Records at the same time you learn about Virtue from the Shinto Priest. To check on your progress with these, just go into your menu and one of the options there will be Diligence Records, which will be split up into five different categories. It should be noted that the list you see under each category isn’t all you’ll get, as you’ll unlock higher ranks of the same objective, as you fulfill the previous one.

Where to Spend Virtue in Like a Dragon: Ishin

So, you’ve accrued a lot of Virtue and might have forgot where to spend it. Well, if you recall back to the beginning of the game, the Shinto Priest was standing right in front of a shrine. There will be one of these shrines in each of the major areas of the game, which is where you can exchange your Virtue. The things you can get with Virtue at a shrine are permanently added to your game, and can be extremely helpful, like increasing the amount of inventory space you have, as an example.
