Alien Repair

Paul McNally

While most of the other space encounters we have documented so far have been relatively rare, there are a number of encounters that you can expect to come across more frequently.

One such encounter involved helping out various lifeforms in distress but supplying them with resources.

A stranded alien hails your passing ship hoping for a helping hand.

What is the Alien Repair encounter in No Man’s Sky

Here, in this encounter, we are encouraged to drop out of Pulse to answer a distress signal.
Upon activating our communicator we were faced with a panicky Gek desperately begging for some resources to help him fix his ship - a ship he was not sure would make it through its next warp jump.

You can now choose which of the resources to offer him, or you can leave him stranded if you have no soul, but should you choose to help your fellow space pilot out you can expect a reward in the form of faction standing as well as a whole bunch of Nanites for your trouble.

Once that’s completed you can be on your way with a cheery wave, feeling good about your good deed for the day.

A request for resources can either be granted or ignored.

Can you attack the alien in the Alien Repair Encounter?

No, you can’t, what is actually wrong with you?

How often does the Alien Repair space encounter occur?

There are no exact maths on this, but it is certainly more common than than some of the other encounters. Having said that, it is also less common than some of the others. In short though, you should expect to see it a fair few times if you play No Man’s Sky for any real length of time.
