You cannot reach the next mission area by airship so you will have to travel via chocobo. To reach the mission area, go past McTighe and head east into the Eibon Region to begin the mission.
You would do well to have a large contingent of chocobos for the next mission, especially Swiftwind and Assault chocobos. They do well in RTS missions because they can kill most enemy units in one hit.
If chocobos are not your preference, Trey with a fully charged shot makes a good alternative. He should be able to deal with everything thrown at him in the next mission.
