As the Overlord of Scorching Flame, a Netherworld that prides itself on its power, Red Magnus can be a bit of a “muscle gorilla.” His primary goal is to find and defeat Void Dark, making him the strongest Overlord in the universe. He seems to know Seraphina, which annoys her to no end.
You will unlock Red Magnus as a playable character at the end of Episode 1. He is pretty much a physical brute, with some high HP, as well as pretty good ATK and DEF. His INT, RES, HIT and SPD are all low, so there’s nothing you can do about that at the beginning of the game. He is good with both Spears and Axes, with either working out good for him, although a lot of people tend to gravitate towards Axes. The biggest problem with using Axes with Red Magnus is that he has a low enough HIT already, and Axes will have negative HIT on the actual weapons. Still, though, Axes tend to have pretty good ATK on them and Red Magnus will make use of that.
Red Magnus’ initial Overload is called Super Olympia. It makes him bigger and boosts all of his stats by 40%, which is a pretty good thing to have. If he’s having a tough time against an enemy, that extra 40% boost might give him the edge over the enemy. Once you complete Chapter 9, Super Olympia will get upgraded to Super Universe. This is the exact same Overload, except Red Magnus’ stats will be boosted to 50%.
Red Magnus’ unique Evility is called Super Crush, which reduces the enemy’s defense by 50% whenever he does an attack. This makes Red Magnus a great character to use at the start of a combo, since all attacks that follow will take advantage of the defense reduction. At the end of Chapter 9, Red Magnus will learn a second unique Evility, called Heart of a Leader. This boosts his stats by 3% for each member of the squad he is currently a member of. If you stick to the Relief Party, Foot Soldier or Dark Assembly Squads, he can get a huge boost, as they all have a maximum of 20 members.
Because his stats are boosted by 3% a good bit from Heart of a Leader, he has a little leeway in his other Evilities. Naturally, since Axe skills are usually focused on a single enemy, Bushido helps the damage with those. Violence should be more than enough to hit the cap of 100% for stats (it does 50% to stats), meaning you don’t need some of the others for stats. Power Axe increases the damage dealt by 10% whenever you have an Axe equipped. Anything else that increases ATK (this will likely increase attack power) and/or critical is helpful here.
There are three major areas in the Disgaea universe, Celestia, which is home to the angels, the Human World, and the Netherworlds. The Netherworlds are split up into a bunch of different ones, each governed by an Overlord, who has their own set of rules. Those very same Netherworlds are now in danger of being destroyed or taken over by an evil army known as The Lost, who is being led Void Dark. However, a ray of hope appears in the form of Killia, who seems to have a deep grudge against Void Dark. Can he really go through the rumored 10 billion Lost soldiers and exact his revenge against Void?
