Researchers have studied Slumber Cats for years. They have many fans, due to their cute cry and soft fur, and many are actually kept as pets. They are affectionate, but always look for a chance to overtake their owners, so they make for dangerous pets.
The Slumber Cat is unlockable once you reach Episode 4, when a quest titled Cute Animal, Meow appears in the Quest Shop. To complete it, you need to hand in a Sardine item. Slumber Cats may be nothing too special, although they have pretty a high SPD stat and aptitude. Couple this with their unique Evility, which allows them to take lesser damage from humanoids, and they can likely last against humanoid enemies for a good while. You should stick with ATK Monster weapons for them, as their INT is low enough to not be of use at all. They do have a pretty good base Move and Jump, and their second Magichange skill is 3x3. Slumber Cats also have one very important Evility that basically makes it so allies can’t hurt one another.
The Slumber Cat’s unique Evility is Weakening Aura, which decreases the damage taken from humanoid units by 30%. This is a pretty great unique Evility, as you will undoubtedly be fighting a lot of humanoid enemies. Of course, you will also be fighting a lot of monsters, so this won’t work on that. However, it is still a good defensive Evility and should be present in a defensive build. Sword Guard increases the unit’s sword resistance by 20% and like all other similar Evilities, you can achieve the same effect with an Innocent. Softening Aura will nullify the damage taken from allies and while this might seem useless, it becomes very important in the endgame stuff, especially once you start using the Sage’s Land Decimator.
Asleep Attack increases the damage dealt to sleeping units by 100%. Sleep is one of the more less useful ailments, as while enemies cannot do anything while asleep, any attack will wake them up. Cat Step will increase the evasion from attacks from lower elevations to 50%. This is definitely a bit situational, as you sometimes cannot control the elevation on maps, which means you won’t get full use of this Evility at all times. Kinship Awareness increases stats by units of the same class x10%. Since there is such a large diversity to the game’s cast, it doesn’t make too much sense to run an army of the same class.
