The main antagonist of Disgaea 5, Void Dark is a ruthless and cruel demon who doesn’t even value his own subordinates, something which is prevalent as he has gone through a high number of secretaries. He is the leader of the Lost Army, with him being known as the Demon Emperor. It seems he has some kind of connection with Killia, but it isn’t known.
Void Dark isn’t unlocked as a playable unit until you complete the Possessed by Heart area. Void is someone that is more skilled at using Fists or Spears (the former makes sense, considering the story), as those are his highest base weapon masteries. Despite this, though, Void does have a straight 110% in all of his stat aptitudes, so he does have a bit of leeway in how you want to build him. All of his skills only use the ATK stat, so you have some wiggle room into what weapon to use on him.
Void’s Overload is called Alma Ice Sculpture, which allows him to make an enemy you hit not be able to take an action for a single turn. Needless to say, this can be quite powerful, if used correctly, as making it so an enemy cannot act for a single turn is extremely useful. However, this same thing can be accomplished by simply using a fodder unit of yours to lift up that same enemy, although they will take damage/perish because of that. Of course, there are some units that have Evilities that make them not able to be lifted, so this Overload could come in handy in those circumstances.
Void’s unique Evility is called Swift Strategy, which increases his Revenge Gauge by 20% at the beginning of a battle. This has some decent uses, especially if he’s close to having the gauge full, since he can simply go into Revenge Mode to reap its benefits. If you can manage to get a Rank 40 Weapon from researching Netherworlds, then you can get this to stack, meaning Void can have a 40% Revenge Gauge bonus at the beginning of battles. If you wish to build around the Revenge Gauge, then you can add Fighting Instinct, which increases all gauge gains by 50% (not the above, of course). To the Death increases your ATK by 100% during Revenge Mode, but your DEF will be decreased by 100%, too.
Once you have done leveling your character all the way and gotten them back to 9999, then Violence is great to use, since it increases their stats by 50%, but they will only earn 50% EXP (you can still use it otherwise). If you want to do something a little out of the box, keep Void as a lone wolf. Should you do this, then you can equip him with Loner Power, giving him the other 50% boost to his stats (it caps at 100%).
There are three major areas in the Disgaea universe, Celestia, which is home to the angels, the Human World, and the Netherworlds. The Netherworlds are split up into a bunch of different ones, each governed by an Overlord, who has their own set of rules. Those very same Netherworlds are now in danger of being destroyed or taken over by an evil army known as The Lost, who is being led Void Dark. However, a ray of hope appears in the form of Killia, who seems to have a deep grudge against Void Dark. Can he really go through the rumored 10 billion Lost soldiers and exact his revenge against Void?
