How to Heal in Resident Evil 4 Remake

By
Scott Peers

The healing system in the Resident Evil 4 Remake often requires you to craft a mixture of herbs in different combinations which will restore your health and provide other buffs depending on the combination. There are 7 Mixed Herb recipes by default, each of which we’ll list on this page.

All Mixed Herb Recipes and Their Effects in RE4 Remake

There are 7 Mixed Herb recipes that you have access to by default from the beginning of the game, and they each require different combinations of Green Herbs, Yellow Herbs, and Red Herbs. You can usually find these herbs throughout most areas, either stored inside furniture, lying around interior rooms, or in various places outside. It’s a good idea to thoroughly explore every area that you come across rather than rush through them, since you’re likely to miss some of these herbs (and other important items) otherwise.

The herbs tend to stand out due to their relatively vibrant colors, so you should be able to spot them quickly if they’re not contained within furniture or hidden behind objects. You may need to destroy some items such as barrels to reveal herbs and other items, which you can do with a melee attack or by slashing them with your knife.

List of Mixed Herb Recipes With Green, Red, and Yellow Herbs

You will notice that not all of these Mixed Herb recipes will heal you, since some will only increase your maximum health. These are best used just before a tough fight, but if you have plenty of herbs they can also be useful to use as you go through an area for the first time, making those nasty surprises more forgiving. Keep in mind that you can always use a single green herb to restore a small amount of health if necessary, but it’s generally best to wait until you have enough herbs to create one of the mixed herb recipes for the much improved effects.

Green + Green This blend of two green herbs will restore twice as much health as a single green herb.
Green + Red This blend of green and red herbs will restore almost three times as much health as a single green herb.
Green + Yellow This blend of green and yellow herbs will restore as much health as a single green herb and increase your maximum health.
Red + Yellow This blend of red and yellow herbs will increase your maximum health.
Green + Green + Green This blend of three green herbs will restore three times as much health as a single green herb.
Green + Green + Yellow This blend of two green herbs and one yellow herb will restore twice as much health as a single green herb and increase your maximum health.
Green + Red + Yellow This blend of green, red, and yellow herbs will restore almost three times as much health as a single green herb and increase your maximum health.

How to Craft Mixed Herbs to Heal and Increase Maximum Health

Once you’ve gathered some different types of herbs, all you need to do is go to your inventory and combine them in accordance with the recipes listed above. A separate item will then be created in your inventory which you can right click to consume for the desired effect.
