Waste Disposal Power Puzzle Solution in Resident Evil 4 Remake

By
Ben Chard

Much like the Freezer Power Puzzle in Chapter 13, you’ll come across another similar puzzle in Chapter 14, in the Waste Disposal room. You will need to solve this in order to restore power to the area. This page will tell you everything you need to know about solving this difficult puzzle and reuniting with Ashley in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Waste Disposal Power Puzzle can be found in Chapter 14 of Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How to Complete the Waste Disposal Power Puzzle

The first part of the Waste Disposal room sees you having to split from Ashley while she turns the valve to raise a bridge. Make sure you have a rifle ready as you’ll need to constantly pay attention to Ashley’s wellbeing, should a Ganado get up close to her and strike her, she’ll die, and you’ll fail the mission.

This happens when you get to the other side and reroute the power, a wave of Ganados will come through from the door in front of you so take aim with a rifle and deal with them before they can get anywhere close to Ashley. As you make your way back to Ashley, ignore the Regenerador that attacks and sprint over the bridge, Ashley will wait for it to walk on the bridge and drop it below! With that out of the way, you can now use the console at the locked door and solve the Waste Disposal power puzzle.

(1 of 2) You will need to leave Ashley while you reroute the power

You will need to leave Ashley while you reroute the power (left), but be ready to take out the Ganados once the power is rerouted. (right)

The idea of the puzzle is to flick the switches so all the power nodes are aligned. In the top-right corner of the screen, you’ll see the electricity symbol with 0/4 next to it. You want this to say 4/4 to complete the puzzle, and you can do this by manipulating the many switches.

At the bottom of the console is a switch with five notches above it, and you can move the switch left to right, and vice versa. The first four notches indicate what part of the circuit you’re controlling with the fifth notch being the confirm power button. The first notch controls the outer part of the circuit with the rest of the notches controlling the next parts of the circuit heading inwards. Once all the electricity power nodes are highlighted, head to the yellow section of the switch to confirm it.

Waste Disposal Power Solution

  • Move the switch to the first notch and rotate the icon three times. This will run the power to the top-right electricity node.

  • Now move to the second notch, and rotate this three times as well.

  • For the third notch, you guessed it, rotate it three times. This will leave you with 2/4 power nodes activated.

  • Finally, for the last notch, rotate it two times. This will connect the circuit together and bring power to all the electricity nodes.

You should rotate the switches like this to solve the waste disposal power puzzle.

All you need to do now is move the switch to the final yellow notch, and confirm it to unlock the door. Once the door opens, you will be able to proceed deeper into the island stronghold as you continue your search for Luis’s lab to remove the plagas from Leon and Ashley.
