How to Unlock and Find all Numen Skill Cards

By
Nathan Garvin

More than human in some ways, less than human in others, the slayer will gain access to Numen skills late in the game, which reflect the tenuous balance between human and autophage… On this page we’ll discuss what Numen Skill Cards are and how to unlock Numen Skill Cards.

(1 of 2) Defeat the boss during the story quest “The Search for Truth” to unlock Numen Skill Slots,

How to Unlock Numen Skills in Dead Island 2

The fourth and final set of Skill Slots you’ll unlock in Dead Island 2, you don’t gain access to Numen Skill Cards until late in the game. Defeat the boss during the story quest The Search for Truth and, after a cutscene, Numen Skills will unlock. You’ll initially only have access to one Numen Skill Card (which one you get at this point varies depending on the Slayer you chose at the beginning of the game) - but can gain access to further Numen Skill Cards in various ways. There are five Numen Skill Cards and only two Numen Skill Card Slots.

You can find the Seismic Stomp Skill Card in The Metro - the only Numen Skill Card that is found instead of awarded for quest completion.

Where to Find All Numen Skill Cards in Dead Island 2

Incredibly powerful skills, Numen Skill Cards empower your abilities as a zombie slayer… but is that someone who slays zombies, or a slayer who happens to be a zombie? In function, there’s not a whole lot that ties these skills together - their effects are fairly broad and unusually potent, reflecting the slayer’s duality. Below you’ll find the location of every Numen Skill Card in the game:

Numen Skill Card Effect Location
Anger Mismanagement Autophage skill. When your FURY runs out, you’ll stay in FURY MODE but start draining HEALTH instead until your health gets low. Defeat the boss during The Search for Truth
Born Survivor When you’re about to die, a FORCEFUL explosion will trigger instead and drain your FURY. Attack zombies to regain HEALTH. Complete the side quest [Beacon of Hope].
Corpse Blossom Zombies slain with FIRE, SHOCK or CAUSTIC damage will detonate in a POWERFUL explosion of that same damage type. Complete the main quest The End of the Line.
"Glass Cannon" iconGlass Cannon Get a moderate boost to CRITICAL DAMAGE, and an even bigger boost when your health is low, but your TOUGHNESS is reduced. Complete the side quest ["The Art of War" iconThe Art of War].
"Seismic Stomp" iconSeismic Stomp On impact, SKULL STOMP triggers a FORCEFUL explosion that drains the STABILITY of nearby zombies and makes them BLEED. Found in The Metro. See images above.

(1 of 2) You’ll obtain the Glass Cannon Numen Skill Card for completing the side quest “The Art of War”.

Best Numen Skill Cards Dead Island 2

There are five Numen Skill Cards and two slots for them to fight over. Not the hardest choice in the game, by a fair bit, but there’s still some choices to make. For our money, the two most useful Numen Skill Cards are "Glass Cannon" iconGlass Cannon and Born Survivor; the former makes you more receptive to damage, but you also deal more Critical Damage - a fair trade for [Maim Builds], while the latter essentially prevents you from dying when your Health is depleted, knocks nearby enemies back and causes your attacks to heal you for a short while… albeit at the expense of draining your Fury Meter.
