Missing: Laura - Lost & Found Guide - Dead Island 2

By
Scott Peers

The "Missing: Laura" iconMissing: Laura Lost & Found quest can be acquired at the Serling Hotel, which you’ll first encounter during "The Final Gauntlet" iconThe Final Gauntlet main story quest in Dead Island 2. Check the information board outside Dr. Reed’s office to interact with the note and begin the quest.

“Laura has been reported missing! The missing poster mentioned she and a friend had been arrested on Venice Beach the day of the outbreak. The cops may have transferred her somewhere safer, but your first step should be to check she’s not still in her cell.”

Where to Find Laura at Venice Beach Police Station - Dead Island 2

As mentioned in the note on the information board, the last known location for Laura is at the police station on Venice Beach. You’ll need to head there by using the fast travel map nearby in the Serling Hotel, or take any other map if you happen to be in a different area. You should find yourself at the Blue Crab Grill on Venice Beach after fast travelling there. From here, head outside and make your way to the police station on the beach, which is just southwest of the Blue Crab Grill.

Destroy the Maglocks at the Venice Beach Police Station

If this is your first time in the police station, you’ll need to destroy the green and blue maglocks on the door inside. You can do this by following the wires from the lock, with the blue one taking you to the small room on the right of the door, and the green one just to the left of the door inside the office. If you’re having trouble locating these, see the screenshots below. Once you’ve destroyed both, either by shooting them or hitting them with a melee weapon, you can get inside and thoroughly inspect the items inside the office.

(1 of 3) Destroy the blue electrical unit to the right of the maglock door.

Location of Police Chief Malloy

You’ll note that Laura’s cell is locked, and the keys to it are missing. Look for the Keeper of the Keys note on the desk inside the office, which will indicate that Police Chief Malloy has the keys to the cell. You’ll need to track him down to get the keys, so go outside and head northeast, where you’ll find a small building with “Venice Hot Dog” on the sign. Enter it through the side door to find the police chief munching on a zombie around the corner to the left. You need to kill Malloy and then take the keys back to the police station to open Laura’s cell.

Be ready for a fight when you open Laura’s cell: she will be on the ground so you have some time to prepare, but her friend Emily is also in there. Kill them both and then listen to the recording from her phone on the floor to complete the quest.
