This page details how to unlock and complete The Rav-ages of Caustic-X side quest. Here you’ll find information on how to start the quest, how to find Rav and the ambulance and how to fend off the zombie onslaught in the ballroom and at the hotel swimming pool!
How to Begin The Rav-ages of Caustic-X Side Quest¶
This is a Halperin Hotel side quest and its recommended level is 11. Although this side quest is based in Halperin Hotel, you’ll need to pick it up in Monarch Studios.
In order to begin this quest, you’ll need to have first completed the Michael Anders and the Holy Grail quest in Monarch Studios and defeated the boss Alesis Hernandez. Once you walk out of the boss fight arena and then through the back door you’ll hear a distressed call on a radio nearby.
To start this quest you’ll need to interact with the woman on the radio in Monarch Studios.
Interact with the radio and a woman named Hanna will ask you to help her med student friend who’s stuck at Halperin Hotel. She’ll ask you to head over to the hotel and help him out!
How to Find Rav¶
If you’ve not unlocked fast travel yet, you’ll need to head back from Monarch Studios to Halperin Hotel. We’ll be brief, but to get there you’ll need to head from Monarch Studios through Beverly Hills, back to Bel-Air and then to the Halperin Hotel and then make your way to the entrance.
Once you reach the entrance, an explosion will go off and a wall of flames will prohibit your entry. Before you can head in you’ll have to deal with a Crusher zombie and a few burning zombies that appear from the flames. Once the flames have dissipated, head to the ball room where you defeated Becki the Bride. Here you’ll meet Rav, who’s hiding up on the balcony.

Find the Ambulance in Halperin Hotel¶
When you speak to Rav, he’ll tell you he’s trying to run some tests on the Caustic-X green acidic goo that’s found around the hotel. To reach the ambulance, head back out the main entrance of the hotel then follow the road up to the furthest corner of the parking lot where you’ll find the ambulance.
You’ll need to be careful as you approach the area as there’s a caustic zombie called the Ambulance Driver, and his attacks resemble Alesis Hernandez’s from the boss fight in Monarch Studios. Additionally, there’s also a couple of regular zombies nearby and a Crusher. You’ll likely want to deal with the Crusher and the ads first, then focus on the Ambulance Driver. You can ignite some fire behind the toppled over bus to burn the zombies - fire and other status effects really help with whittling down the Crusher’s HP.

After clearing out the zombies, you’ll want to use the water in the back of the truck to clear the Caustic-X on the ground to the right. Here, you can pick up the Caustic-X Shipment Receipt found on a biohazard box. Once you’ve obtained that, return to the ballroom in the hotel.
How to Defeat all the Zombies in the Ballroom¶
Once you’re back at the ballroom, you may want to stock up on some of the med kits dotted around the room, as well as acquaint yourself with the locations of food and batteries (for electrocuting!). When you’re prepared, turn on the music and get ready to fend off a lot of zombies whilst Rav does his thing.
You’ll definitely want to use your surroundings during this fight. There’s batteries and water around so you can fry a good few zombies using this method! Just be careful you don’t get caught in the water yourself!

There will also be a few grenadier zombies in the mix so try not to get caught out by those and use them to your advantage by corralling the other zombies around the grenadier before it explodes.
Once you’ve cleared out all the zombies, Rav will ask you to head over to the Hotel swimming pool to experiment using the Caustic-X liquid in the pool! To get to the pool you’ll need to head out the door to the right of the foyer and make your way down the steps to the right.
Kill 14 Zombies at the Swimming Pool¶
Once at the swimming pool, Rav will ask you to kill 14 Zombies. The brief tells you to experiment on different ways to kill the zombies but one of the easiest ways will be to guide the zombies into the pool by herding them all on one side then running over and standing on the opposite side of the pool. The zombies will walk into pool and burn in the acid before they reach you!

You could also kick a few into the pool or just do it the good ol’ fashioned way and beat them up with your favorite weapon!
After killing 14 (there’s way more than that in the area), return to the ball room to speak with Rav on the balcony. Speaking to Rav will complete the quest, and in exchange for your help you’ll earn 2,500 XP, the Rare Melee Liquidator Mod and a Caustic-X Bomb.
