Dead Island 2 Legendary Weapons: How To Get All 8

By
Craig Robinson

Dead Island 2 has 8 legendary weapons to acquire once you complete the game’s main story. These are basically unique weapons, similar to the blue and purple weapons you’ve been getting through some of the sides and lost and found missions you’ve already done in the early game, such as "Raven" iconRaven, a reward from the Zombie Mailman quest. However, these weapons will come with some of the best weapon mods in the game, thanks to their superior quality effects of mods you’ve been getting already, and, some of the better base stat values on those weapons compared to similar stats. So, if you want to kill zombies in style, here’s a closer look at how to get all 8 Dead Island 2 Legendary Weapons.

Here’s how to get all eight legendary weapons in Dead Island 2 with missions, prerequisites explained, and more.

How To Get All 8 Legendary Weapons in Dead Island 2

Below, we will list all 8 Legendary Weapons in Dead Island 2, and what you need to get them. Most of these require some form of legendary quest chain to get, while others can be easily missed because they only activate after certain parts of the game are completed.

Legendary Mission Prerequisites
"Big Shot" iconBig Shot It’s Not Your Fault Once you have completed the main story, ie "Hollywood Ending" iconHollywood Ending, you gain access to more end game side quests. One of those is now in Emma’s Mansion in Bel-Air. Here, you can return and speak to one of her guests, Luciana, who gives you the side quest, It’s Not Your Fault. This takes you into Brentwood Sewers, and into the main tank where all those zombies spawned in the campaign. Follow the quest instructions, and Luciana will award you with the Big Shot for your troubles.
"Blood Rage" iconBlood Rage Fool’s Gold "Fool's Gold" iconFool’s Gold is one of the earliest legendary weapons you can get. You need to have completed the "Boardwalking Dead" iconBoardwalking Dead, where you defeat Butcho. After that, a named "Crusher" iconCrusher should spawn at the Lifeguard HQ called "Dante" iconDante on the Santa Monica Pier map. He will drop the Lost and Found journal to start the quest. The quest then needs you to collect clues, which you can find in a locker in the Lifeguard HQ, then burner phones in an alleyway near Luigi’s Pizzeria, another on a bench near the Ferris Wheel "Lockbox" iconLockbox. Once you have all the clues, you can now find the safe between the wall of the CDC base and the Lifeguard HQ, but not ebfore fighting off a few zombies that spawn first.
"Bodycount" iconBodycount Redacted Redacted is a Lost and Found quest that requires you to have done a number of tasks before you can start this quest. You need to have completed the first side quest from Rodriguez in the Venice Beach Tower, which you can start at the end of the "Beach Offensive" iconBeach Offensive main story mission. You also need to have completed the main story, and then be at the end of the follow-up Rodriguez side mission, Diary of the Dead. After you have done the main tasks, a zombie called "Lt. Ford" iconLt. Ford should spawn in a bunker, which will drop the quest chain to start Redacted. You then need to find two more documents, which are in containers near the beach in the base, and then a container near the tower. You then need to head into the southern end of the tower and get the gun from the final container , which you can only access if you did Rodriguez’s first side mission.
"Brutalizer" iconBrutalizer "Body Art: Dread" iconBody Art: Dread Complete the two side quests you get from Rikky about Gods and Whiskey in Beverly Hills, and then you shall get a quest marker from another house in Beverly Hills. You can do some of these, but you will need to progress further through the main story, with more unlocking after Patton teaches you about Autophage body parts, and then more at the end of the game (if our understanding is correct anyway). These quests typically rely on your to collect Autophage parts, which you can find by killing various Apex Zombies, like "Volatile" iconVolatile "Screamer" iconScreamers, "Crusher" iconCrushers, "Slobber" iconSlobbers, "Butcher" iconButchers, and more. Once you get through the quests, you will then eventually get "Body Art: Dread" iconBody Art: Dread, which requires Mutator Hearts, and when that’s handed in, you get the "Brutalizer" iconBrutalizer.
"Emma's Wrath" iconEmma’s Wrath "Hollywood Ending" iconHollywood Ending Once you have completed the main storyline, you will automatically get "Emma's Wrath" iconEmma’s Wrath. This is the easiest Dead Island 2 legendary weapon to get!
Krakatoa Missing Person: Steve You need to unlock the missing person type of Lost and Found quests, which you do part way through the main story arc in Ocean Avenue. You only get two, though, with more becoming accessible at the end of the main storyline. Work your way through these missing persons, and you will eventually get one called Steve. This has you go hunt for celebrities in Monarch Studio, before returning to Beverly Hills where Steve can complete his masterpiece. Do as he tells you, and you will get the Krakatoa at the end of the quest.
"Party Starter" iconParty Starter Drunk and Disorderly You need to complete the "Boardwalking Dead" iconBoardwalking Dead main story mission (end when you beat Butcho), and after that, you should get the side quest for Drunk and Disorderly in Ocean Avenue. Here you need to find several named zombies and then the last one will award you the Party Starter weapon in the trunk of a nearby car.
The One A Beacon of Hope There are two quest chains you need to complete, one involving Monarch Studio Stars, and another from Amanda the influencer. Let’s start with the Monarch Studios one. That quest chain that begins when you complete the main storyline where you meet Alex and crew in Venice Beach. When you arrive at the Blue Oyster "Safe" iconSafe House, you should hear a lady looking for someone called Sebastian on the radio. Get the quest, and complete the Space Fox quest chain over in Monarch Studios. You get the "It Came From Monarch Studios" iconIt Came From Monarch Studios quest, and a follow up at after thee "Boardwalking Dead" iconBoardwalking Dead main storyline called The Terror of Stage 7 as it involves a "Butcher" iconButcher. You also need to complete Amanda’s storyline, where you need to do her Clickbait quest in Bel-Air, which you get after the Hotel Halperin mission. You also get a follow up quest for her in The Pier called "Like and Follow" iconLike and Follow. Once both of these quest chains are done, you get to go to Hollywood Boulevard’s anti aging clinic, and you will find the trio of NPCs there, with you able to start the Beacon of Hope.

And there you have it, you now know how to get all 8 legendary weapons in Dead Island 2. This will keep you going for some hours, and certainly make some of the end game zombie bashing worth it. Good luck, and enjoy your new fancy orange quality weapons.
