Sons Of The Forest is a pretty hardcore survival game, basically leaving it up to you to forage around for anything and everything in order to get through. While you’ll come up against various adversaries, the real enemy is the weather.
One way in which you can add a layer of protection to your character is to pick up some clothes, allowing you to repel some of those adverse conditions on the island. However, to secure these, you’ll have to do some scouring, making things quite complicated.
The Winter Jacket is one such clothing item that could be very much needed in your playthrough and this guide will teach you its location and what benefits it possesses.
Sons Of The Forest Winter Jacket Location
If you want to avoid those wintery nights in Sons Of The Forest, allowing you to avoid any potential frostbite, the Winter jacket will be vital. As just stated, jackets are scattered throughout the island and aren’t exactly in the most obvious places meaning you’ll have to do a bit of exploring to find them.
For the Winter Jacket specifically, you’re going to need to look for a campsite. This campsite is next to a river on the west portion of the map. This means if you’ve progressed north or are stuck in the mountains, you’re going to have to do some walking to get to it.
The Jacket itself is inside one of the tents. See the images below for both the campsite GPS location and which tent it is housed in.
You’ll know when you’ve spotted it because it actually looks like a folded jacket in-game and you’ll be able to pick it up using E on your keyboard or A on controller.
Sons Of The Forest Winter Jacket Benefits
As you would expect due to its name, the Winter Jacket is the absolute perfect clothing item when you get to the cold season. This is because it has max warmth stats, protecting you perfectly from both the snow and freezing temperatures. Obviously, you’ll have to sacrifice any other clothing for this, but it will certainly be worth it.
On the other hand, if you’ve managed to keep Kelvin alive or have recruited Virginia, you’ll be able to give it to them also, hopefully extending their life just that bit longer, potentially crucial if you need help gathering materials or fending off hungry enemies in the Winter.
