Sons of The Forest is a sequel to The Forest and it was finally launched on February 24th 2023. As you may already know if you played the previous game, getting a shelter setup before the first night approaches is extremely important otherwise you’ll be vulnerable to the cannibals. This page will navigate you through the necessary steps to crafting and setting up a Hunting Shelter.

Hunting Shelter Recipe in Sons of The Forest¶

Once you begin your first day in Sons of The Forest you’ll be unsure where to start, as you’ll have no weapons, food and drink. Your first objective should be getting some kind of shelter before the night, so you can sleep and save. Open up your Inventory by pressing 
Emergency Pack to be given the Tactical Axe which will allow you to gather the necessary materials for the Hunting Shelter.
How To Build A Hunting Shelter¶
You can choose to create a building using your own design, but for the sake of time it’s advised you use the templates the game gives you for your first build, so you can learn how the building works. Open up your Guide Book by pressing 
Put it down in down in your desired location, ideally somewhere flat and near some water, then you’ll need to gather 5 Log, 6 Sticks and 7 Stones. Logs you can get by cutting down any of the 1000 of nearby trees. Sticks can either be found on the floor or by destroying bushes to cause them to fall. However, a stick isn’t always guaranteed to drop, but it seems to drop more often when destroying the red bushes. Finally, Stones can be found scattered on the floor, but more commonly near beaches.
