Monster Hunter Rise

What is a Cohoot

By
Shane Williams

Cohoot is a new pet added in to Monster Hunter Rise. It can be spawned by pressing Monster Hunter Rise Screenshot / Monster Hunter Rise Screenshot until you see “Call Cohoot”.

Call Cohoot by pressing [L-PAD] until you see “Call Cohoot”.

How to use the Cohoot Controls

Once Cohoot is on your arm, you’ll be given the Cohoot Controls menu. Here you can press Monster Hunter Rise Screenshot to pet Cohoot or you can open up the pet menu by pressing Monster Hunter Rise Screenshot for more options.

Within this menu, you can change the colour of Cohoots clothing or you can change the clothing to stuff you unlock throughout your journey within Monster Hunter Rise. You can also feed Cohoot, but there doesn’t seem to be any benefit.

Another useful thing about Cohoot, is that it’ll store any items it may have found at its nest which can be found by going to the Buddy Plaza, then using a Wirebug to reach the top of the tree.

What do Cohoots do?

Cohoot does a lot more than be a cute pet. Below you’ll find a list of things Cohoot will do to make your life easier.

Show Monster Locations

Upon entering a quest, Cohoot will fly on ahead and scout the areas to find out where the Monsters are located. However, it’ll show up as “???“ on your map until you are nearby the enemy.

Allows Join Requests

Like the SOS: Flare back in Monster Hunter: World, Cohoot allows you to send out Join Requests. This will allow other players to join you and assist if you’re having a hard time defeating the monster.

Takes Photos!

If you are wandering around the awesome looking areas in Monster Hunter Rise, and you get the urge to take a quick photo. Well Cohoot has you covered, as he’ll hold the camera whilst you get into position.
