The Charm perk tree essentially allows you to more effectively increase renown and influence on the campaign map, with a few extra options among mutually exclusive perks. For example, the level 25 perk 'Diplomacy' reduces bartering penalty by 15%. This means that you will be able to purchase items with a 15% discount, while selling items at 15% more then their default cost. Higher level perks allow you to boost the loyalty of your subjects and increase the chances of successfully persuading someone to your cause.

Note: Each of the perks listed under a specific level are mutually exclusive. If you invest in one at a particular level, you will never be able to invest in the other at that same level.

Charm Perks:

Skill Level 25:

  • Ice Breaker: +10% chance to gain 2 relation with lords when first meeting them
  • Diplomacy: -15% penalty when bartering

Skill Level 50:

  • Adventure Stories: +1 renown for each issue resolved
  • Show Your Scars: +20% renown from battles won

Skill Level 75:

  • Forgivable Grievances: +20% chance to avoid critical failure in persuasion
  • Meaningful Favors: +10% chance for double persuasion success

  • Pro Familia: +10% more influence from clan member party actions

Skill Level 225:

  • Parade: +5 loyalty bonus per day when visiting one of your settlements

Skill Level 250:

  • Charm Extra: N/A - currently bugged

Skill Level 275:

  • Immortal Charm: +1 influence point per day for each 5 skill points beyond 250

Tip: The most common method for levelling the Charm skill is completing quests. As you complete quests for specific individuals, your relation with them will improve, thereby increasing your charm. You can also barter with traders, lords, enemies, and love interests to increase the skill, and spend influence to vote on policies once you've joined a kingdom.
