Best Way to Farm SP in Crisis Core Reunion

By
Matt Chard

When you get to the later stages of Crisis Core Reunion, you’ll start expending a lot more SP, especially if you’re trying to min-max materia, or you’re using any of the "SP Turbo" iconSP Turbo materia’s. Thankfully, if you look hard enough, there are ways to accumulate lots of SP in a relatively short amount of time. This page will tell you what the best method is to get SP.

These round orange balls are known as Movers who will yield lots of SP when defeated.

Movers

The best way to get SP is by farming the enemy-type “"Mover" iconMovers”. These small frustrating orange balls will always offer you the best SP regardless of what tier of enemies you’re fighting, but they can be tough to defeat. They have high VIT and SPR (Defense and Magic Resistance), so you’ll need materia which can exploit that. Earlier in the game, you’ll want to use the "Darkness" iconDarkness Materia as you can get it relatively early. Towards the late-mid to end-game, you’ll want to switch over to "Costly Punch" iconCostly Punch. Both of these materia’s ignore VIT, and can defeat them with little effort.

The later game variants also have some attacks of their own to worry about. If you see them casting Delta-Attack, run for the hills as this attack can be devastating, especially when you don’t have a lot of HP. Also, be aware that their normal attacks can deal a fair bit of damage, so don’t underestimate them.

Mover Tiers

There are four tiers of enemies in the game, and it’s the same for the Movers archetype.

Tier Enemy Name SP Missions
1 "Mover" iconMover 2000 SP 8-5-2
2 "Mover RE" iconMover RE 4000 SP 2-3-3, 6-4-1, 8-6-1
3 "Mover EX" iconMover EX 8000 SP 2-5-2, 6-5-5, 7-6-5
4 "Three Stars" iconThree Stars 20,000 SP 9-5-2, 9-5-3

Early SP Farm

For the early to mid-game, you’ll want to start farming mission 8-5-2. This can be unlocked in Chapter 3 when you get access to mission 8-4-1: Suspicious Mail. You’ll need to complete all the subsequent missions that follow it to access mission 8-5-2. In here, you’ll be defeating the regular Movers, which will give you 2000 SP. You’ll fight at least two of them as the boss of the mission, but they can appear throughout. At this stage of the game, you’ll want to use Darkness to defeat them. You can find out how to fuse this here or where it drops here. If you have Costly Punch, use that instead.

As you’re approaching mid-game, you can move on to "Mover RE" iconMover RE’s which appear in the following missions: 2-3-3, 6-4-1, 8-6-1. Mission 8-6-1 is available in Chapter 3, while mission 6-4-1 is Chapter 5, and mission 2-3-3 is Chapter 10. These will give you 4000 SP per enemy, and will help fund your Materia Fusion addiction.

Mid-Game and End-Game SP Farm

From mid-to-late game you’ll want to move on to the "Mover EX" iconMover EX’s. These will offer you 8000 SP per enemy, and will appear in the following missions: 2-5-2, 6-5-5, 7-6-5. You can head into mission 6-5-5 as early as Chapter 2, 7-6-5 as early as Chapter 4, and 2-5-2 as early as Chapter 10.

For the end-game farm, you’ll be fighting Three Stars. These are still of the Mover archetype, but these are a little more dangerous as their Delta Attack can one-shot lower HP players. Defeating one of these will give you a massive 20,000 SP per enemy, and you can find them in the following missions: 9-5-2, 9-5-3. Both of these missions are available from Chapter 3 after the cutscene with Sephiroth. You’ll need to complete a long series of difficult missions starting from mission 8-4-1: Suspicious Mail 1 to reach them though.
