How to Reach Cetus Island in Tower of Fantasy

By

This page explains how to reach Cetus Island in Tower of Fantasy.

What is Cetus Island?

(1 of 2) Cetus Island is a large floating island in the Navia region.

Cetus Island is a giant floating island located in the Navia region towards the north-west of Aesperia. It’s incredibly hard to miss. The island itself is shaped like a spinning top, with metal cables connected to the ground.

How to Reach Cetus Island

Because Cetus Island is floating really high up, you can’t travel there using conventional means. There are two ways to enter Cetus Island.

Via the Main Story

If you’re patient and want to avoid the hassle, you’ll naturally visit Cetus Island as part of the main story. More precisely, you’ll head there near the start of Chapter 3.

After shutting down the Banges Omnium Tower at the end of Chapter 2, the story will guide you towards the Navia region, further north. When you reach the designated area, you’ll run into Black Dog and a Ravager discussing some dodgy dealings.

Soon afterwards, you’ll become acquainted with Melo, a little fellow from Cetus Island. He’ll lead you to the Dirigible, a hot balloon, and attempt to fly you to Cetus Island. Things don’t go exactly as planned though… We won’t spoil the rest, but you’ll eventually find another way to Cetus Island.

Before the Main Story

For those of you who are skipping the main story, there is a way to get to Cetus Island, although it’s slightly unconventional.

See those metal cables that connect to Cetus Island? With a lot of effort and a pinch of luck, it’s possible to climb them. However, you need to choose a cable carefully, because not all cables are created equally.

Namely, the cable must connect to the halfway point of Cetus Island. The cables that connect to the bottom of the island are no good.

A good cable to follow is the one a short distance north of the Navia Omnium Tower. If you fall off, you can easily fast-travel back to the tower to try again.

(1 of 2) Another good cable is located further south.

Another good cable is the one near the radio tower south from the Omnium Tower, near Ruin C-02. This cable seems to provide better footing in our experience, but it’s not located to any spacerifts. So if you do fall off, it might be difficult to get back up again.

First things first, head to your preferred cable and get on it. If it’s high up, you’ll need to glide down from somewhere high, like a mountain or the Omnium Tower, etc. Begin walking/running across the cable while the slope is fairly gentle.

(1 of 4) Run along the metal cable (carefully).

Eventually, you’ll reach a point where it looks like the cable shouldn’t be possible to climb. There will be a thicker cable link, like a sausage. If you’re confident about your stamina, perform a double jump and try to climb from the bottom of this sausage. If you succeed in clinging on, keep climbing up until you reach a small ring that you can walk/rest on.

If you feel your stamina won’t be enough, you can try using the Omnium Hand Cannon to create a rest spot halfway up. Or use the Jetpack to gain some air. When using the jetpack, try to aim for the side of the “sausage”, rather than the front. Because you’re likely to slide down the front.

(1 of 4) You can use the Omnium Hand Cannon to create pillars.

After reaching the small ring, give yourself a small pat on the back. You’ve overcome the first hurdle, but there’s still a lot of work to do. From here, you need to climb the increasingly vertical cable, stopping at each of the small rings to rest your stamina.

The distance between each small ring is quite big and will eat a lot of stamina. So you’ll likely need to use the Jetpack and/or Omnium Hand Cannon to cut some of the distance, especially if you have no/few stamina upgrades. Similar to climbing the sausage part, try to glide to the thin side of the cable after using the jetpack to fly up.

Keep going until you’ve climbed to the final small ring.

Just one more thing to do and the rest should be pretty easy.

(1 of 4) Well done if you reach the final small ring!

From here, you need to glide to the circular platform near the center of the island, where the diagonal support beams are. We suggest flying up with the Jetpack. Also, it’d help if you perform air dodges between gliding wherever possible (so glide, dodge, glide again). If you upgraded the Jetpack once to remove stamina consumption, you can also perform a few mid-air jumps to regain height.

After landing on the platform, head towards the south-east part of the platform; refer to your map if necessary. Run up one of the support beams towards a ring-like platform underneath the roof. At this point, you can go right up next to the roof, but it doesn’t seem like you can go anywhere else. If you get really close, you should notice a tiny gap between the roof and the platform. Too tiny for you to squeeze through though!

(1 of 4) Go along the diagonal support beams to the ring-like platform.

However, if you search around near the south-east side and observe that thin gap really carefully, there’s one point where the gap widens into a triangular shape. If you crouch (by pressing the Z button on your keyboard or the very bottom-right icon on mobile; you may need to activate it from Settings) and keep pushing forward, you can just about squeeze through the gap. This may take a lot of fumbling though.

Should you manage to pass through the gap, quickly press the Jetpack button to glide. Or you’ll fall down. Glide towards the ring-like platform on the left, surrounding the island. Next, head to the opposite end of this platform. Up ahead, there should be a pronged part of the island. Your goal is to glide towards the wall on the left or the pronged part near there.

(1 of 3) After squeezing through the gap, glide to the nearby platform towards the left.

To make it easier, shoot the Omnium Hand Cannon on the floor to create a vertical pillar. You should also Jetpack up and use mid-air jumps (stamina permitting) to regain height. After clinging onto the wall, climb up and you’ll be atop Cetus Island! Be sure to head to the spacerift so you can easily get back here again!
