Hide and Seek Side Quest Walkthrough - Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

As with every RPG, it’s best to talk to every NPC, and Sea of Stars is no exception. Sometimes, you will run into NPCs that ask you to do them a favor, starting a little side quest. These side quests in Sea of Stars aren’t tracked at all, but it’s a good idea to do them, as they typically reward you with Rainbow Conches, which is the game’s main collectible. This page will go through the Hide and Seek side quest, where to start it and how to complete it.

This NPC will ask you to find his grandchildren, who are playing hide and seek.

Where to Start the Hide and Seek Side Quest

You will find this side quest in Docarria Village, which is located underwater. Upon reaching Watcher Island, you will have to go through the Jungle Path to get to Lake Docarria. This will eventually lead to the Sacred Grove, where you will get the ability to breathe underwater, allowing you to go to Docarria Village. Once you are there, head to the eastern side of the village to find an older NPC. Speak to him and he will mention that his three grandkids like to play hide and seek, but he is unable to find them. They have a habit of hiding in random inner chambers, and he doesn’t like barging into other’s homes.

Where to Find the Three Grandkids in Docarria Village in Sea of Stars

Going off of the lead from the NPC, all of the grandkids will be found in the village, of course. You can get them in any order, too, so you don’t have to follow this guide exactly.

Grandkid Location #1

(1 of 3) Enter the house next to the Rainbow Conch NPC for the first kid.

The first grandkid can be found in the building just to the left of Mirna, the merchant who collects Rainbow Conches. Enter the building, climb the wall, then jump off the ledge and use the whirlpool. This will put you underwater, so swim over to the other whirlpool down here to emerge in another building. This building will have a chest in the northwest corner of it, and if you look just south of that chest, you should see some red coral coming out of the wall. The child will be behind that red coral, so speak to him and he will go back to the plaza.

Grandkid Location #2

(1 of 4) The other two kids can be found by going inside the shop.

The other two grandkids will be found in similar spots, so to get started, head to the western side of the village. Look for the building with the sign out front, marking it as the shops. Head inside and climb the wall in the back, using the whirlpool in the water there to go underwater. Head left and take the first whirlpool you see, to enter a large house. Look behind the table just north of you to find the purple child standing there. As before, speak with the kid to send him back to his grandfather.

Grandkid Location #3

(1 of 2) There is a slightly hidden whirlpool in the northwestern corner, accessible from the shop.

There is a slightly hidden whirlpool in the northwestern corner, accessible from the shop. (left), The kid will be behind the bed in the house you get to from that whirlpool. (right)

For the third grandkid, you will be going through the same shop as before, but instead of using the first whirlpool, you should see a path above it. Take this to a second whirlpool, leading to another wall you can climb to a house. You should find a chest here, with the Old Coral Vase artifact (for Teaks). If you look behind the bed on the left side, you can see the hiding kid, so speak to him to send him back to the grandpa.

Once you have found (and talked to) all three grandkids, return to the guy who sent you and he will reward you with a Rainbow Conch.
