Where to Find the Wraith Island Solstice Shrine in Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Something you might stumble across early on in your adventure, in Sea of Stars, is a Solstice Shrine. The first one is found on Evermist Island, but you can’t go inside it, so you chose to ignore it to return to it later. There’s a total of five Solstice Shrines in the game and each one contains a puzzle within it. It’s a great idea to do these, too, since you can get some nice items from them. This page will focus on the Wraith Island Solstice Shrine, as well as how to solve the puzzle inside it.

The goal of the shrine is to reach the large chest at the top.

Where to Find the Wraith Island Solstice Shrine

Wraith Island is your main destination from the beginning of the game, and you will eventually reach it some hours into the main story. After you finally reach the Town of Lucent, you will have to carry on to the next dungeon, the Cursed Woods. On your way to the Cursed Woods, you will see the Solstice Shrine to the right of it, on the world map. However, you won’t be able to enter it right there and then, as you lack a specific tool. Continue progressing the main story, until you reach the Flooded Graveyard, and following that, the Necromancer’s Lair. As you go through this, you will find the Graplou, the item you need.

(1 of 2) The Solstice Shrine will be right next to the Cursed Woods dungeon.

How to Solve the Wraith Island Solstice Shrine Puzzle

Return to the Solstice Shrine and use the Graplou to get across the gap, then stand on the button to open the door. The chest that you need to open will be found at the top of the shrine, and it’s your goal to solve a puzzle in order to reach it. The first thing you’ll want to do is head to the right side and stand on the lowest platform, which will make one of the platforms on the left side rise up. Head on over there and jump over to the platform with the item, which is Solstice Shrine Key A.

With this in hand, you can return to the right side and look in the corner there for a hole in the wall. Place the key in there to make two ledges appear just above it. Climb up and open the normal chest for a Shimmering Staff, then jump onto the other two platforms on this side (notice the hole in the wall at the top here, though). From there, take the Key out of the wall, then hit the lever to return the first set of platforms to their initial position.

(1 of 4) Stand on this platform on the right, to raise one on the left.

You can now head back over to the left side and place the Key in the hole that was hidden by the first platform. Doing this will create some ledges in between the upper platforms on the left side. So, jump back on the right platform to raise the left one again, then climb up to the top one for Solstice Shrine Key B. You can put this Key into the hole on the right side, then retrieve the other Key by using the lever again (yes, it’s a lot of back and forth, so it might be a little confusing).

Climb up the right side and place the Key from the left into the hole at the top here, with this creating more ledges on the left side. You’re almost done, so drop back down to the ground, retrieve the Key from the hole on the ground level, and reset the one set of platforms one last time. You will be placing that Key into the hole behind the one platform on the left, then you can raise it back up. With this all in place, you can finally climb up to the very top, where the chest on the left will be holding a Shimmering Sword.

(1 of 4) The lever will reset the two platforms, where you can find another hole for a Key.

The main chest will yield an accessory, called the Solstice Sash. Once you loot the big chest, you will see a glimpse of another door (this was in the Mountain Trail dungeon), and one of the lights on that door will disappear.
