Where to Find the Northeast Island Solstice Shrine - Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

You will come across a Solstice Shrine relatively early in your adventure in Sea of Stars, but you won’t be able to do anything about it until a little later. There will be five of these Solstice Shrines, which contain a puzzle that will usually yield a piece of equipment, or skill, for one of the two main characters. This page will focus on the Solstice Shrine you find on an island in the northeastern portion of the Home World map.

Where to Find the Northeast Island Solstice Shrine

(1 of 2) The location of the Northeast Solstice Shrine on the world map.

The location of the Northeast Solstice Shrine on the world map. (left), You will need to be able to fly in order to get here. (right)

You will undoubtedly see this island while sailing around the map, but you won’t be able to reach it until you have access to the final story dungeon. That is when you gain the ability to fly, which is needed to get to the island. The island will be found just south of Settlers Island, which is where Mirth is located. Simply land on the island and head inside the shrine.

How to Solve the Northeast Island Solstice Shrine Puzzle

As soon as you enter the location, you will see a Solstice Puzzle, which is required to enter the shrine itself. Simply light the middle line first, then quickly move to each of the two side ones. Note that when you’re going from one side to the other, you can stop very briefly on the middle one to keep it lit. This will open a door, allowing you to go inside the actual shrine now.

The puzzle here is pretty simple, compared to some of the other Solstice Shrines. You will be alternating between the two light paths on the ground (after stepping on the button to spawn the light crystal), both of which will do different things. Your goal is to climb to the platforms and hit the buttons, which will turn on one of the three lights to the right of the bars blocking the chest. The left side of the light crystal will cause light to come out of the other crystals in the room, making vines grow. The other side will simply making some platforms come out of the wall.

(1 of 3) Lighting the left path will make vines grow at certain spots.

So, start with the vines and climb the one on the left, where you’ll end up in a little alcove. You can then jump down to the platform with the button on the left, so hit it (1/3). While still on the same platform, move the light over to the right side, then use the block that appears to hop into the middle. As soon as you’re on the middle platform, change the light back over to the left and climb the middle vine to its top. Drop down to the left, twice, then climb the ledge to the left to gain access to a lever. Pulling the lever will cause a single block to appear underneath the other lever you see.

Drop back down to the middle platform and use the block you just spawned to reach the button on the right (2/3). Climb the vine on the right side now, then drop down to the platform with the second lever. This will cause a platform to jut out from the wall above your head. With the vines still out, climb the middle one again, to the ledge above, then move the light over to the right. This can be a little annoying, as you won’t be able to see it, so you could do little increments. The wall will come out a little bit, allowing you to climb onto the wooden ledge that came out from the second lever.

(1 of 3) You will be going back and forth with the light during this shrine.

You should now be able to hop to the platform with the third button (3/3), so hit it to gain access to the chest at the bottom. Open the chest to receive a pair of Heliacal Earrings, a new accessory exclusive to Zale. In addition to the Magic Attack buff, this accessory also makes Zale’s Sunball attack deal full damage when it splashes to other enemies.
