Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Ruby's Spite (Legendary)

By
Jarrod Garripoli

One of the best things about Borderlands games, as well as the spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is the Legendary items you can find. These items are gold in color and tend to have unique effects that are exclusive to that particular one. This page will concentrate on the Legendary Pistol, Ruby’s Spite.

Where to Find the Ruby’s Spite

The Ruby’s Spite can be found as a world drop, meaning it’s possible to get it from any loot source. However, it does have a dedicated loot source in the Monstrous Shroom miniboss. This miniboss can be found at the Ancient Obelisk in Weepwild Dankness. The closest fast travel is the Busted Ass Ruins, which requires you to travel northwest from it, then west and lastly, north, to find the Ancient Obelisk. Touch it, kill the enemies it spawns, and eventually, the Monstrous Mushroom will appear. Upon killing the Monstrous Mushroom, you may get the Ruby’s Spite as a drop, so make sure your Loot Luck is high to get better chances.

Ruby’s Spite Stats and Effects

The Ruby’s Spite only seems to come with Dark Magic elemental, meaning it has the potential to be very good for a Graveborn. Anything else attached to the weapon will be randomly generated upon it dropping. The special effect on this weapon doesn’t have a name, but is listed below.

  • The target takes increased damage for each Crossbolt stuck in the target. Bolts last 5 seconds.

How to Use the Ruby’s Spite

As already mentioned, the Ruby’s Spite only appears to come in Dark Magic, making it great for a class like the Graveborn. It only has a two-round burst, with both the normal and alternate fire mode being the same (possibly a mistake?). Upon shooting the weapon, you see it shoots three bullets at a time for each shot. The special effect isn’t unique to this weapon, but there is something hidden that the game doesn’t tell you about for the Ruby’s Spite. Sometimes, when you kill an enemy, your Fire Rate is drastically increased and the bullets will home in on enemies. That hidden attribute can make this weapon very powerful, making it one of the better pistols/weapons in the game, since it can absolutely do some major damage to both normal enemies and bosses.
