Following the success of the 5th generation Pokémon Black and Pokémon White , it was almost guaranteed that Nintendo would release a supplementary third title, like Pokémon Crystal, Emerald or Platinum in the past. Most people expected “Pokémon Grey”.
However, Nintendo surprised all by opting to release not one but a pair of new 5th generation games: Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 .
Even more bizarre, Black 2 and White 2 aren’t enhanced versions of the originals, but actual proper sequels, hence the number “2” attached to the end.
Black 2 and White 2 thrusts you back into the Unova region, two years after the first games. As before, you’re a new Pokémon trainer and your aim is to be the very best. Although the region is the same and there are no new Pokémon introduced, a lot has changed so don’t expect a similar ride at all.
