How to defeat Hell Biker

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Hell Biker is a fiend that you must defeat in the DLC Subquest “Return of the True Demon” in Shin Megami Tensei V. Most Subquests will reward you with a large amount of experience, some Macca, and then you’ll receive an item of sorts. Most of the time, it’ll be a Talisman which allows you to have access to the different Magatsuhi skills in the game.

How to Unlock Return of the True Demon - Hell Biker

As this entire quest line is DLC, you will need to purchase the Return of the True Demon DLC from the Nintendo eShop. You will also be unable to battle Hell Biker without first defeating Matador and Daisoujou. You will find Hell Biker in Shinagawa - Konan 4th Block, on the one highway there. To get to it, either come from the Mitatebashi Leyline or the Konan 2nd Block Leyline, and make your way to where the Punishing Foe, Girimehkala, is located. South of where he is located, there is a spot in between that buildings that leads to an upper path, where you should find some climbing blocks. You don’t want those, however, as you need to simply get on the highway and go north to find the spot with Hell Biker.

Recommended Party

Hell Biker can be a challenging foe, as all of his attacks will hit the entire party. On top of that, he has the ability to remove any stat debuffs on himself, as well as remove any buffs on your party. However, with the correct preparation, you can make this battle a lot easier on yourself. Hell Biker is a lot of resistances, mainly nullifying Fire and Force damage, while also resisting both Light and Dark. He is neutral to Physical and Electric, and weak to Ice, so those are the three main elements you want to focus on for your bout. You will want a single demon who blocks Force, as Hell Biker will always open up with the Hell Exhaust attack.

This does medium Force damage to the entire party, while also stripping away any buffs you have on your party. Since it is the start of the battle, you shouldn’t have any buffs applied. If just a single character blocks Force, though, Hell Biker’s second turn will be forfeited, meaning you can go on the attack. If your party is well prepared for this battle, then you will not likely need any buffs or debuffs, but they certainly don’t hurt at all. While Hell Biker can remove both buffs and debuffs, he doesn’t seem to use those respective moves too often, meaning you might get some use out of both before he does decide to get rid of them.

For the other moves, Hell Spin is a heavy Physical attack against all party members, so there’s really nothing you can do to really help, unless you randomly toss up a Phys Dampener or have some physical resistance. There’s nothing you can do about Dekunda, so if it happens, you just sit there and let it happen. As for Tentarafoo, if you use Parvati as a party member, then she is immune to it and should you have Me Patra, then she can heal everyone else who might get confused. The last move is Hell Burner, a heavy Fire attack, but Hell Biker only uses this whenever he charges Magatsuhi, so you can easily block it with a Fire Dampener.

(1 of 3) Hell Biker will always open the battle with Hell Exhaust

As already mentioned, having Bufula or some Ice skill on everyone will make the battle go much quicker, which gives Hell Biker less of a chance to slowly break you down. If you want to use buffs and debuffs, go ahead and do that, but if Hell Biker starts taking those down, then it might be better to ignore them. He does have a little more Vitality than the previous two fights, so he will last a little longer. With the recommended party above, you will want to put an Essence that blocks Force on the Nahobino, which will help with the Hell Exhaust attack. Overall, it’s not too challenging of a battle, as compared to the previous Fiends.
