Altaroth are giant spider-like insects who feed off of mushrooms and honey.
Areas: Primal Forest, Ancestral Steppe, Sunken Hollow, Frozen Seaway, Volcanic Hollow, Heaven’s Mount, Everwood, Dunes
Attacks
Gooey Spit: Shoots a green liquid ball at you. Inflicts Defense Down for a bit.
Jaw Chomp: Chomps at you with its jaws. Small damage, but trips you.
Bring Poison Smoke Bombs , poison ammo/coating, or a weak poison weapon if you need carves. Letting poison kill them will guarantee their bodies remain, while attacking or shooting will usually blow the body to smithereens. In addition, letting Altaroth absorb the nutrients from a mushroom, berry, etc and then killing it will make it drop a shiny that can sometimes turn out to be a useful item.
