How to Unlock and Complete the Close Call Challenge¶

Close Call is one of the initial nine Challenges you’ll unlock immediately after finishing the Mission Making Rent. It tasks you with completing two objectives:

• Drive into oncoming traffic (for 120 seconds).
• Get 20 near misses in a vehicle.

Both of the objectives for this Challenge are basic feats of vehicular misuse and will likely be earned just as you drive around Santo Ileso… because let’s be honest, nobody actually follows the road rules in these games, right?

How to Drive into Oncoming Traffic and Get Near Misses¶

You can actually work on both of these objectives at the same time, and arguably one of the easiest ways to grind this out (which frankly shouldn’t really be necessary) is to drive down the long bridge that crosses Lake Sebastian. Go down the wrong lane and drive into oncoming traffic while staying in the middle of the road, “threading the needle” between approaching cars. This will earn you both “Oncoming Lane” and “Near Miss” accolades, which you need to complete this Challenge.

Striking another vehicle will halt progress on these objectives, but since both of these objectives are cumulative, enough persistence will suffice, no matter how poorly you drive.
