This page offers information and advice on buying turnips and how to invest into the Stalk Market.
The Stalk Market
Every Sunday, Daisy Mae will visit your island and sell turnips from 5am to 12pm. Her selling price will vary, but it’ll usually be between 90 and 110 bells. The lower her asking price, the better your chance of making a profit!
The reason why you want to invest into turnips is because you can sell them to Timmy and Tommy in Nook’s Cranny for a profit. You can sell turnips to Nook’s Cranny everyday except sundays. The turnip prices will change everyday, and the price will change twice a day from morning to afternoon. This means you should be checking your shop’s turnip prices twice a day to make sure you get the best price.
This is the best way to make lots of bells in Animal Crossing, as Timmy and Tommy will sometimes offer up to 600 bells for a turnip, meaning you could potentially make up to 6 times the money you invested into the turnips you bought from Daisy Mae. That being said, 600 bells is a very rare asking price, and your turnip prices are more likely to peak between 200 and 300 bells. Unfortunately, you could also be unlucky with your turnip prices, as on some days they can go incredibly low.
Tips on How to Make Bells Selling Turnips
These tips will help you to be successful in the Stalk Market.
Check your turnip prices everyday, in the morning and afternoon!
Try to sell them before thursday, as this is when the turnip prices will begin to plummet. The prices in the days leading up to Sundays are usually the lowest.
Ask your friends! Your friends will have different prices to you, so they could have really high asking prices on days when your prices are rubbish.
Joining Stalk Market communities can be a great way to find the highest turnip prices.
Dont time travel! If you time-travel with turnips then they will go rotten and you’ll have wasted all your invested bells! You need to also sell your turnips before the following sunday, as they only last a week!
The best way to make sure you don’t lose out on bells is to join Animal Crossing Turnip communities or forums. Everyday people will advertise their island’s high turnip prices, and you can go to other player’s islands to sell your turnips. Be wary though, some people will try to charge you lots of money for going to their island. Entry fees onto islands are largely banned in Turnip communities because some people would ask set ridiculously high fees. Whilst it is advised that you avoid entry fees, you should always tip whenever you can. Players who open their islands to random strangers dedicate lots of their day to allowing people to visit their island. They also risk people stealing their fruit, trampling their flowers and being disrespectful to their island. You should always try to tip a portion of your turnip earnings or NMTs as thanks for the host’s hospitality.
Be safe when interacting with strangers. Never give out private information about yourself, and don’t let them steal your in-game items or scam you.
