Request 113: Sneasel's Path of Solitude

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Request 113: “"Sneasel" IconSneasel’s Path of Solitude” in the “Daybreak” DLC for Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Unlock Request 113

(1 of 2) Does Gared randomly pick these Pokémon from a hat?

Does Gared randomly pick these Pokémon from a hat? (left), On this occasion, you have a little leeway, since there are two versions of Sneasel. (right)

After completing Request 102, you can receive 10 requests related to the Path of Solitude–including this request–by speaking to Gared at the Jubilife Village Training Grounds.

1. Participate in the Path of Solitude with Sneasel

To complete this request, you must enter Sneasel in the Path of Solitude.

Speak to Ingo at the Training Grounds with Sneasel as your only party member and choose the “Path of Solitude” option. You can change your party by choosing the “Select Pokémon” option when speaking with Ingo.

First things first, don’t do this fight with a Hisuian Sneasel–you want a Johtonian Sneasel caught from a Space-Time Distortion in the Obsidian Fieldlands. You can encounter a maximum of 3 Johtonian Sneasel per distortion; if you’re lucky (or unlucky in this case), you may encounter "Weavile" IconWeavile instead.

From there, we suggest training up Sneasel a little. The ones found in distortions are around Level 50, while your opponent is Level 70. You don’t need to reach Level 70 yourself, but the closer you are, the better. We also recommend boosting Sneasel’s Effort Levels for Attack and Speed.

(1 of 2) If your Sneasel is fast enough, Agile Style Ice Shard will guarantee two actions after Gligar’s first action.

If your Sneasel is fast enough, Agile Style Ice Shard will guarantee two actions after Gligar’s first action. (left), Using these two actions, you can use a regular Ice Punch, then finish with a Strong Style one. (right)

In terms of moves, the key ones to use are Ice Shard and Ice Punch. For the latter, speak to Zisu to teach it to Sneasel. Additionally, if you have spare Seeds of Mastery (obtained from other Path of Solitude requests etc.), consider mastering Ice Punch.

"Gligar" IconGligar can use Mud Bomb, Aerial Ace and Quick Attack. In our experience, it prefers to use Aerial Ace, presumably to benefit from STAB. Depending on your Sneasel’s Level and stats, Aerial Ace may knock off half of Sneasel’s HP.

However, if your Sneasel is fast enough (a Speed-boosting Nature, like Jolly helps), try using Agile Style Ice Shard to raise your Sneasel’s action speed at the start. Then follow up with a regular and Strong Style Ice Punch, which should KO Gligar.

Otherwise, you may need to Level Up Sneasel some more and/or raise its Defense Effort Levels.

Reward for Request 113

We recommend saving these candies for later!

For besting Gligar, Ingo will give you some rewards such as Exp. Candies or Grit items. Additionally, for your first clear, he’ll add a “Path of Solitude” stamp in Sneasel’s Pokédex page.

Show the stamp to Gared to complete this request, earning you:

  • Seed of Mastery x1
  • Exp. Candy L x1
