Pokémon Legends: Arceus

How to Find & Catch Uxie

By
Staci Miller

This is how to find and catch "Uxie" IconUxie in Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

Uxie can be caught in the post-game.

How to Unlock Uxie

The first thing you’ll have to do to unlock Uxie is, as with all of the Legendaries, beat the game in its entirety. Complete the main story and let the credits roll before you move onto hunting for Uxie.

Speak with Cogita at her home at the Ancient Retreat. Once you’ve done this, she’ll give you a number of tasks, but the one relevant to Uxie is Research Task 21: The Plate of the Lakes.

Uxie is one of three Pokémon you can come across in this quest. Check out our guide on how to catch Mesprit and our guide on how to catch Azelf for the others. You can take on the Pokémon in any order.

Uxie can be found in the Alabaster Icelands. Head to Lake Acuity and you’ll find Uxie in the north, but not before you have to battle an Alpha Hisuian "Zoroark" IconZoroark. This pokemon_bdsp_normal17.png pokemon_bdsp_ghost17.png dual-type Pokémon will be Level 53 and has complete immunity to Fighting and Normal-type moves, so be careful of who you send out.

If you want to catch Zoroark, make sure you don’t whittle down the health too much to make them faint. After you’ve defeated Zoroark, you can move onto Uxie.

How to Catch Uxie

Uxie is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves.

Uxie is a Level 70 pokemon_bdsp_psychic17.png Pokémon, so don’t send out any Fighting-types. Psychic Pokémon are weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves, so have those moves ready to go.

Much like the other Legendaries in this quest, you might want to catch Uxie on the first go around, as this saves you from having to battle it again and makes you completely safe — however, if you do defeat one of these Legendaries, you can come back once you’ve defeated them all and they will respawn for another shot at catching them.

The main thing you’ll have to watch when fighting Uxie is the Hypnosis move, which it will likely use right away. Make sure you’re prepared for your Pokémon to be put to sleep and have items on hand that can wake them right back up, such as a Full Heal.

It may not be the best idea to send your ace out first, as they might be put to sleep, giving Uxie a good chance to attack.

You’ll want to whittle down its health to at least yellow, but preferably red. Ultra Balls are the most likely to do the trick in catching them, though Great Balls may do the job too. Poké Balls, not so much!

Status moves can also help.

Uxie will also ask you five questions at the end based on how many eyes certain Pokémon have. The answer is 60131, and answering correctly will get you a piece of the Red Chain.
