PAX Trees are a new system added into Outriders in the Worldslayer Expansion which was released on June 30th, 2022. It adds two new subclass trees for all four classes. This page will detail everything you need to know about the Wrecker branch which is exclusively available to the Devastator Class.
What is the Wrecker Tree in Outriders Worldslayer
The Wrecker Tree is all about making the most of the Devastator as a Tank and mitigating damage. The final skill in the middle path of the Wrecker Tree is Elitism, this will cause your shots on Elites to reduce incoming damage from Elites by 15% while also increasing damage against Elites by 30%. This is an exceedling powerful skill as by the time you’re farming the Endgame, you’ll be constantly facing waves of Elites and having a Wrecker to help mitigate the damage from them is a massive boon to any Outrider group.
There are three paths that you can go down, and you’ll have to make the choice seeing as there are only five PAX points up for grabs. It’s suggested that you focus on getting to the end of a path, rather than spreading your points out because the skills there will change the way you approach the game. Due to the nature of these Trees, you’ll have to dip into the middle before making your final choice on the paths.
The top path focuses on skills that increase your Weapon Damage by 30% and your magazine size by 50% (Hunting Season), either increase your Weapon Leech based on close range enemies (Harvester) or increase your damage mitigation based on close range enemies (Hardened). It will also increase your Weapon Damage based on the percentage of ammo remaining from your magazine (Finishing Touch), increase your Armor Piercing along with reducing Kinetic cooldowns (Armored Division), and finally, allow your Kinetic skills to grant your Armor Piercing (Against Devastating Odds).
The middle path focuses on the same skills as the top path up to Finishing Touch, then allows your Kinetic skills to remove Effect Resistance from Elites you hit (Come One, Come All) and the Elitism skill mentioned above, which will cause your shots on Elites to reduce incoming damage from Elites by 15% while also increasing damage against Elites by 30%.
The bottom path, like the middle path, features the same skills as the top path up to Finishing Touch (this is where the main branch is), then adds Bleed to your shots which, when you kill an enemy inflicted with it, will reduce the cooldown on your Protection skills (Strange Surgeon) and also while your Protection skills are active, you’ll release a seismic pulse every 2 seconds that deal damage based on your armor (Overwhelming Force).
