The Trickster is a class of tricks, darting from one place to another, manipulating gravity and time itself to slay its enemies. In Worldslayer, the class got some extra goodies to mess around with, adding a new way to get Anomaly Power and Firepower on the class to make more interesting builds. However, one stands tall amongst the crowd. Below we will show you what appearers to be the best Outriders Worldslayer Trickster build, especially considering the potential for its single target and elite killing damage.
Best Outriders Worldslayer Trickster Build
The focus of this build is to look at the combination of Anomaly Power and Firepower builds. This seems to be the best build, thanks to the new Trickster PAX tree, which ramps both your assault weapon damage and Anomaly Power at the same time. It also further improves your shields, granting you extra defensiveness, making it a fairly robust build. The only downside is that its map clearing speeds are not as effective as let say the Seismic Commander or the Heat Seeker meta sets.
However, this build requires the perfect set-up of weapons and mods. If you don’t have it, then the build sadly falls apart. It is important to say you absolutely need the fifth PAX point and the three-piece Shieldbeast set, along with the Anomaly Enhancement tier 2 mod for your weapons. You’ll also need armor mods like Anomaly Echo and Arms and Anomaly, and Mage’s Rage for your weapons too. All in all, this is a build that requires proper investment and setup, which is a major weakness to it. If you don’t have most of these mods and the armor set, then this build is not worth the damage. Instead, stick to a tried and tested Firepower build until you get the right pieces.
But, when you get the armor set, have a few Anomaly Power buffing mods and weapons with Anomaly Enhancement, you can play the very basic build. It then comes to a matter of time till you get your preferred weapons and set pieces with well-buffed Apocalypse 3rd slot mods, which take it to the next level.
Class and PAX trees
The Class and PAX tree are very much cookie cutter in order to get the most out of the best Outriders Worldslayer Trickster build. You need to dip into as much Weapon Damage, and Anomaly damage boosts from your Movement and Deception skills as possible. Moreso, taking the assault weapon perk is key as the hybrid build path only works with assault weapons, thanks to the new PAX tree. You can however, change one or two talents around if you’re still low on cooldown reduction, or fancy getting the Scything talent that increases Anomaly Power.
The Trickster skills you want to use somewhat depend on the playstyle, as you can use either Venator’s Knife and Time Rift. Venator’s Knife has better mod synergy with the Shieldbeast set, along with its mods granting extra survivability with the Trophy mod on the Shieldbeast’s Trousers It also allows you to get to full shield easily for ramping the set’s Anomaly Power bonus quicker. Alternatively, you can run Time RIft, as that allows your to free cast the skill, meaning you can get the shield generation rolling even quicker. It can also be modded to add debuffs and do periodic damage, adding to your map clearing speeds.
|Venator’s Knife||Throw a temporal knife at an enemy. The blade ricochets to seven enemies and deals damage. Damaged enemies are marked, which inflict slow for ten seconds, and doubles the first damage dealt to a marked enemy.||Adds extra AOE to your build, offers extra shields with the right mod and offers bonus proc damage boosting general DPS output.|
|Hunt The Prey||Select an enemy and teleport behind them. Grants a minor shield.||This is neccessary as its the only way to replenish ammo and keeping your Twisted Rounds active via a key mod.|
|Twisted Rounds||Fill your current weapon’s magazine with anomaly infused bullets that increase your Firepower. The skill lasts until you reload or switch weapons.||The key damage skill of the build.|
We advise not using the Time Rift skill, as it means you will need to mod out Venator’s Knife mods to get it to work. The downside of taking Time Rift is you reduce the amount of Anomaly Power and Firepower buff mods you can use in your build instead, which lowers your damage type conversion potential, as demonstrated in the class and PAX tree sections. However, if you get some great third slot Time Rift options, then feel free to start swapping Venator’s Knife mods out for the Anomaly Power mods. More on this later.
In terms of your rotation, here is the priority of your skill and actions:
- Open with your Deception skill to get ‘Lies, Deception’ PAX talent, which increases your Anomaly Power thanks to the Shieldbeast’s set bonus. It’s easier to do with the Time Warp skill, but Venator’s Knife is still okay.
- Land five criticla strikes with your assault weapon and stop firing. If you have Mage Rage, it should be fully stacked by the fourth crit.
- Wait till the Deception skill is back up. If it is already up when you get five crits, go to step 4.
- Press your Deception skill again to continue your shield generation to the max and get your Firewper and Anomaly buffs from the Disruptive Firepower and Countershieled class tree perks.
- You must also use your Movement skill to get the additional 50% Anomaly Power buff from the ‘Combat Shield’s Timeline’ perk.
- (Melee if you opted for the Anomaly Scything Talent.)
- Activate Twisted Rounds while you have the maximum amount of Anomaly Power in your temporary buffs.
Anomaly Power seems to snapshot to your Firepower, increasing the maximum Firepower you can have when you activate the Twisted Rounds skill. With the Hunt The Prey skill refreshing your magazine, you can hold on to the full buffed Anomaly Power until you drop the ammo, or enter a new checkpoint.
When you get round to activating Twisted Rounds, the Perpetuum Trickery from the PAX tree will activate. You will lose a 50% Anomaly Power buff, but that doesn’t matter. In addition, you will gain a 50% weapon damage buff for 50% for seven seconds, which will immediately boost your damage. However, since you keep your ammo refershed, the PAX talent’s purpose is entirely to buff your opener with another 50% Anomaly Power.
Here is an example of the build in play with an rather unoptimized rotation and weapons while we were trying the build out for teh first time. As you can see it does some solid numbers and thats with it unoptimized.
This build is not too fussy in its demands for specific weapons; rather, it is fussy for weapon mods. In a perfect world, your single target weapon will be an assault rifle, with an Anomaly Enhancement and Mage’s Rage mods. It could even have an Omen or a Fortress on it, too, if you get a fantastic Apocalypse third slot on it. But, since three of the four mods are Tier 3, the chances are slim.
|Anomaly Enhancement||Increases your Firepower equal to a percentage of Anomaly Power.||Helps convert your AP into more weapon damage for the gun you are using.|
|Mage’s Rage||Critical hits increase Anomaly Power by 10%. Stacking up tio four times.||Extra AP to convert into firepwoer when you press Twisted Rounds.|
|Fortress||Increases survivability by 5% stacking three times. At max stacks gain a damage increase.||Useful damage increase.|
|Omen||Shots charge up and mark bleed on an enemy. Also increase the damage those enmies take by 10%.||Another addional damage boost to furthe rincrease the build’s overall damage output.|
Here is an example of the weapons you can use with the build. These weapons range from ideal weapons to start working with the build tonew weapons introduced in Worldslayer.
|Damascus Offering||A good option is the Damascus Offering if you’re just starting with the build. The weapon comes with an Anomaly Enhancement on it, meaning you have one weapon guaranteed to benefit from your Anomaly Power buffs. Thanks to the Claymore Torrent modification, it also makes a good weapon for improving your AOE speed. You can get other legendary weapons with Anomaly Enhancement on it too, so when you get one of those, break it down to unlock the mod. You can then mod it into any assault weapon of preference.|
|Deathscape||Deathscape is a new legendary in Outriders Worldslayer that gives players Stigmatized and Damage Link. Stigmatized applies toxic on successful shots and then explodes enemies it inflicts with a killing shot. It also comes with a damage link, adding additional multiple enemy damage to this build. Feel free to remove which one and add in an Anomaly Enhancement.|
|Final Penance||Final Penance is another perfect weapon. This double gun comes with Anomaly Enahancement and Mage’s Rage. If you can get a third slot mod Omen or Fortress on that weapon, you will have an almost perfect weapon, save for the fact it is a double gun.|
|Thunderbird||Thunderbird comes with Ultimate Storm Whip III, which adds a powerful single-target mod to your build. It also comes with Striga, which adds life per crit you inflict on an elite. You can mod this out for Anomaly Enhancement and hope or a third slot Mage’s Rage.|
There are only a few abosultely neccessary armor mods in this to make sure the fundemental build works. These are the Instant Reload, alongside the Skull Piercer and the Strong Twists mods. These heplp to keep the core class skill in check and functioning for your build. Outside of that, we recommend using a mixture of Anomaly Power and Firepwoer mods.
For some of the mods you will rely on Apocalypse gear dropping for the head, chest and legs slots of the Shieldbeast set. In additon, we recommend using the Terminal Velocity boots for the Hyperloop mod, and you can use the Gloves of the Cannonball for the Captain Hunter mod. You can tehn hope you get decent thirs slot upgrades on those pieces too.
Here you’ll find the recommended armor mods to use with your build. Some have higher priotity than others, but its worth mentioning as many as possible so you can regognize solid third mod slot options.
|Arms and Anomaly||Critical Shots increase your Anomaly Power for six seconds and has a six seconds cooldown||Synchronize qith the Mage Rage mod and other stacking damage amplifying mods.|
|Bloodlust||Crit shots increase Firepower, stacking up to three times and deteriorating every five seconds.||Synergizes with the Skull Piercer mod.|
|Critstack||Crit shots grant Anomaly Power and Firepower for 5 seconds, stacking up to five times.||Scales with the early rotation and offers a firepower boost later on.|
|Captain Hunter||Increase damage to Elite enemies by 16%.||A solid increase to elite and boss damage in Tarya Gratar and boss heavy expeditions.|
|Dum-Dum Bullets||Increase assault weapon damage by 12%||General DPS increase to the assault weapons you use in this buiild.|
|Hyperbloop||Hunt The Prey can be cast one more time before going on cooldown.||Helpful for replenishing more ammo if you burn through it too quickly.|
|Instant Reload||Hunt The Prey instantly refreshes the ammo in your magazine.||This is the only way to replenish your ammo and maintain your Twisted Rounds for as long as possible. You 100% need this mod.|
|Kingslayer||Critical hits on Elites increase your Firepower for ten seconds.||DPS increase when facing elites.|
|Power Assimilation||Boosts your Anomaly Power by an amount for each Elite present on the battlefield.||Solid mod for fighting both bosses or multiple elites at once, like loot target levels in Tarya Gratar.|
|Sharp Eye||Critical Shots while aiming down sights (ADS) grant Firepower for five seconds, stacking up to three times.||Great DPS increase when you can reliably enter ADS and land crits. For example, fighting the Arbiters during Judgement in Tarya Grater.|
|Skull Piercer||While Twisted Rounds is active, Critical Damamage is increased with every critical strike, up to 20%. Bonus resets when the skill ends.||General DPS increase while using Twisted Rounds - this is a core mod for the best Trickster build.|
|Strong Twist||While Twisted Rounds is active, increase weapon Firepower by 20%.||General DPS increase while using Twisted Rounds.|
