Tips

You’ve done it! You are now a god amongst Paladins!

That said, there is one more challenge that awaits you: the Paladin’s Special Request , which can be initiated by speaking to Mustang in the Paladin’s Hold.

After accepting the request, you can invite Mustang to your party at any time! You may as well bring along Mustang too, as he’s one of the strongest allies in the game.

During the day , you will find souped up Fairy Dragons and the almighty Ancient Napdragon in the East Grassy Plains, usually south of the pond between the entrances to the West Grassy Plains and the Elderwood.

The Ancient Napdragon is crazy strong; one of the four strongest bosses in the game (if not, the strongest), so you’ll need everything you can muster.

We recommend the best weapons and armours forged by a God Blacksmith or the Dragon King set from the Castele Goddess Statue.

Stun resistance or immunity would be extremely helpful or an ally who can cure status like Yuelia or Celestia. Of note, the Dragon King’s Cape offers full status immunity, but you’ll need a bit of luck to obtain one.

More importantly, a high level of Fire resistance is strongly recommended, as nearly all of the Ancient Napdragon’s attacks are Fire-based (and very powerful too).

As before, let your allies distract the boss while you attack from a safe position.

For its attacks, the Napdragon’s jaw chomp and tail swipe both cause a wave of fire to spread forward, which is very difficult to avoid (especially the jaw chomp), but possible if you keep circling around and let your allies take the brunt of the attacks.

In particular, you really want to keep away from the front half of the dragon because on rare occasions, it may–and with little warning–blast a powerful fiery shockwave from its mouth, which can easily KO you, even at full health.

Near the 3/4 HP mark, the Napdragon may roar into the sky, while blobs of fire surround its body. Take this opportunity to run away and heal, as after a while the Napdragon will hop and cause a small shockwave–this combined with the fiery blobs will likely KO you.

Around the half 1/2 HP mark, the Napdragon will start roaring loudly, creating sound shockwaves that inflict Stun. This attack does very little damage, but Stun is a really annoying status to have, especially in a heated battle like this one.

If you somehow survived all of that, be prepared for the "Ancient Armageddon" attack near the 1/4 HP mark, where the Napdragon momentarily hovers into the air, while shooting meteors and fire breath forward.

It will briefly flap its wings to indicate this move. When you see this sign or the dragon hovering, forget everything and just run .

One final tip we can give you: if you’re patient, you can run outside the Napdragon’s field of sight, then wait for it to go back to sleep. When you approach it again, it will take several seconds to properly wake up, giving you ample time to get some free hits in.

Oh and don’t forget to use the Paladin’s God Skill; it literally makes you invulnerable to attacks.
