Wings of Darkness Defeat 1 Shadow Bigbeak in the Dark Void as a Hunter 1500

Tips

Only three new Challenges await a Hero Hunter. But if you want to be a Legend, you must complete every single Hunter Challenge. So if there are any Challenges you’ve purposely neglected, it’s time to get them over and done with!

If you discover you’re missing Challenges in your list, just cross-reference with our lists to see which ones you’re missing. A couple of the Challenges are given by your Hunter friends, but there’s no need to receive a Challenge to complete it!

All of the new monsters are in the Dark Void, which opens after reaching Level 40 and completing the main story.

To get there, take the ferry from the south bank of the Al Maajik Outskirts to Cacto Cove. Once there, enter the Cave of Shadows to the west and the portal to the Dark Void is just ahead.

Clear the arena of monsters first before concentrating on Bigbeak.

The shadow monsters inside the Dark Void are the toughest yet, so don’t go in without proper preparation. Chances are you may have to fight the wolves while running away from far stronger foes.

Once you encounter Shadow Bigbeak though, get ready to rumble! This Bigbeak has the same attacks as the Thunderbird, so keep away to avoid its multiple wing slaps.

Like against the other big birds, keep moving while listening out for its bird cry, which indicates its dive bomb or shadow breath. Both moves can be sidestepped easily, given you ample time to launch a volley of arrows.

In particular, the best time to attack is during the shadow breath, as that’s when Shadow Bigbeak is exposed for the longest period of time. Just be careful not to get caught in the blast, as it inflicts Poison.

This battle really shouldn’t be difficult for a Hunter of your calibre, but it may take a while due to the Bigbeak’s high HP. Don’t hesitate to bring some fellow allies to speed up the battle, such as Odin, Erik, Daemon or Fletcher in the West Grassy Plains campsite.
