Tips

The Life of a Miner begins in the vicinity of Castele, with Copper ore deposits being your main target.

These lowly deposits can be found near Duglas in Castele, out in the East Grassy Plains towards Haniwa Cave to the west, towards Mt. Snowpeak to the east or in Haniwa Cave itself.

We recommend going to Haniwa Cave as that’s where you’ll find the most deposits, but do bring a knife or another suitable weapon to stave off the monsters inside.

Topazes are rare, but keep mining and you’ll find them eventually.

To begin with, try to master finding a deposit’s sweet spot and breaking the deposit with overkill damage to obtain more ore. These techniques combined will allow you to quickly break deposits and obtain the most ore–win, win!

Our tip: once the deposit reaches around half HP, move away from the sweet spot. Then weaken the deposit with rapid swings until it’s at very low HP, before returning to the sweet spot and pressing X to use your Smash Hit .

With all the deposits around, gathering 10 Castele Copper should be easy.

Topazes are harder to find and you’ll have better luck mining the “superior” or “great” deposits, which are the bigger-looking ones. You can also get one as an uncommon drop from the Skullblob at night.

Minty Ores are essentially trash and they can be easily gotten from copper deposits and other deposits too; before long, you’ll probably have too many of them.

For your final Challenge, you must mine 50 deposits of any kind. Depending on your speed, this might take a while, so don’t worry if you can’t complete it as a Fledgling; just move onto Apprentice and carry on from there.
