Tips

It’s a simple start for Fledgling Carpenters as they build things using Oak wood, found commonly throughout Castele.

Wood and other materials can be purchased from the merchants’ stalls in the Castele Artisans’ District or you can cut down Oak Trees as a Woodcutter.

“Fine Woods and Leather” is the most important shop for a Carpenter; in addition to wood, you can also buy materials found from animals and trees, such as Animal Hide and Pine Nuts . Note that the Shopping+ Bliss Bonus is required for Elder Oak Logs to be stocked.

Don’t worry about spending; you can make it back by selling your wooden creations.

Ores and metals, such as Blue Stones and Bronze Ingots can be bought from “Ores and Mine”. Meanwhile, fabrics like Straw Thread can be purchased from “The Buttonhook”. Looking for something else? Try “Material Wonders” to the side.

Having gathered everything you need, the first step is always to craft many beams of wood, which are required for your other recipes; in this case, it’s Oak Beams from Oak Logs. Early on, making beams will help you practice crafting and slowly improve your Carpentry skill.

Next, you’ll have to make some weapons, tools and furniture. You don’t have to make everything to advance to the next rank, only what’s asked in your Challenges. Even then, you can skip some Challenges if you want and do them later.

At this stage, none of the items should be difficult to make; most are similar to the ones you made as a Novice. After you’ve gotten some practice, craft yourself an Oak Saw if you need to replace your current saw.

Just be wary of the “ High Level “ recipes, as indicated in the top-right corner, under where it says “Fledgling Recipe”, which require slightly more steps and a slightly higher Carpentry skill level.

Finally, when asked to make “ high quality “ items, you must finish the project in a reasonable time. If you routinely get “Nice!” or “Great!“s, then that’s a good sign you’re doing well. Otherwise, grab a better saw to boost your Carpentry stat and thus crafting speed.
