Home is where the heart is.

After a long day’s work, most people will be wanting to return home and things are no different in Fantasy Life. For the most part, your home is your base of operations, where you can rest and plan your next day in peace.

When you’re at home, you can access the “ My Room “ section from the bottom screen, which contains four useful functions:

  • Mail : Check new mail or review read mail or in-game tutorials.
  • Rearrange : Add, remove or rearrange your furniture, wallpapers or carpet.
  • Storage : Store items you’re not using or retrieve them.
  • Theatre : Listen to the game’s music or rewatch cut-scenes (requires the relevant Bliss Bonuses).

Arranging Furniture

You are also encourage to decorate your home, like you would in real life. Furniture can be bought from shops, obtained from Requests or you can make your own as a Carpenter or Tailor!

When you have some furniture, go to “My Room”, then “ Rearrange “. Here, you can choose to arrange your Decor, Wall/Floor or Remove any furnishings.

When arranging furniture, press the A button to place it, L or R to rotate it or X to put it away. Furniture can only be placed where there’s space and you can’t place furniture (except carpets) in front of the door. Otherwise, just go crazy!

If you place a furniture in the wrong place or want to move/store a piece of furniture, don’t fret! Press the X button without selecting an item. Now you can move the cursor around the room and press the A button to grab an item and arrange it anew.

Besides looking pretty, some furnitures have additional benefits.

You can access your storage from any wardrobe in your room. Storing items is quite convenient especially if you’re in a crafting Life. Don’t forget you can craft using materials in your storage and your item bag.

If you have a bed , you can Sleep or Rest to recover HP and change the time of day (sleeping moves you to the morning, while resting takes you to the night) or save your game.

Moving Home

Once you’ve amassed enough Dosh, you may wish to improve your accomodation.

After progressing the story a bit, you can opt to move house from your humble little attic to somewhere a bit more spacious.

To do so, first you must Remove all the furnishings in your home, then speak to Pam downstairs. Of course, you will have to pay a large sum of Dosh before you can move to a new home.

You have a choice of three homes to choose from, although only two are available from the start. These homes are located in the Castele Artisans’ District, South Castele and the Castele Shopping District.

All of these homes are similar in size, so the main reason you want to pick one over the another is convenience. For example, if you’re a craftsman, you may want to live in the Artisans’ District so you can easily access the shops and the crafting workshop.

Holiday Homes

Once you leave Castele and visit the lands beyond, you will gradually gain the option to purchase holiday homes . These function like your main home, so you can place furniture and whatnot.

The main difference between your home and holiday homes is that there’s no need to move home and you can have multiple holiday homes at the same time.

The benefit of holiday homes is additional space to display furniture, plus you can warp to holiday homes from your Map, providing an easier way to return to the other towns.
