Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Solaceon Town (Locations & Items)

By
Staci Miller

Solaceon Town is a small and not particularly exciting town that breaks up your journey in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP).

Pokémon Nursery

The first place of note in Solaceon Town is the Pokémon Nursery.

You can leave your Pokémon here for a fee, and trainers can use this place to breed their Pokémon. Leave two Pokémon together and you might just end up with a Pokémon Egg when you return to pick them up.

(1 of 2) You can leave two Pokémon at once, but no more

You can leave two Pokémon at once, but no more (left), Simply fly back to Solaceon Town to pick them up when you’re ready (right)

You can’t breed any two Pokémon together. Instead, you’ll have to do your research about Egg groups and Pokémon that simply can’t breed at all (the Legendaries being among them).

To actually get the Pokémon Egg when you’ve dropped two Pokémon off for a while, speak to the old man outside of the Nursery. He’ll ask if you want a Pokémon Egg and give it to you when you select ‘Yes’. You’ll then have to travel around to hatch it, as you would with any other Egg.

Pokémon News Press

The small unassuming house to the right of the town is actually the Pokémon News Press. Inside, there will be two men, and the one to the left is the editor.

The Pokémon he asks for are usually easy to find at this point in the game - Shinx can be caught very early on.

If you speak to him, he’ll ask to see a certain specific Pokémon and reward you with three Balls for showing him (which are different each time). Although the Pokémon are usually easy to find close by, you only get the rest of the day to show him or you’ve missed the deadline.

Items

Like with most other locations, this town has a Poké Mart where you can purchase items. The following are available when you first pass through, and some will unlock later when you get more Gym badges and beat the Pokémon League.

To the left of the Poké Mart, you’ll find four trees. Each of these trees has some Berries you can pluck.

The Berries are hard to miss. You can plant more in the soil too.

Other Locations

Other than there, there isn’t much to see in Solaceon Town. There’s a Pokémon Center where you can heal up your Pokémon, and an NPC house where they will give you some vague Pokémon Nursery Advice.

Once you’ve checked out all of the above and grabbed some berries, you should head on to to the** Solaceon Ruins**.
