How to Defeat Arthoc

Scott Peers

Arthoc Location & Profile

You’ll find Arthoc west of Fob November, or east of Riven Gate. His profile is as follows:

The Jiralanae champion known as Arthoc has wreaked havoc on UNSC operations for the better part of a decade. First serving under Korth the Wrender, part of the Brothers of Unending Ire, Arthoc led nearly four dozen individually documented assaults on colonial sites. The most notable was a vicious ambush on the colony of Terceira that claimed the lives of three full ODST squads. Recent intelligence reports indicate that Arthoc joined the rest of the Brothers of Unending Ire in pledging allegiance to Atriox and the Banished. Their motives are currently unkown, but each member should be considered an extreme threat fo any UNSC forces that might be in close proximity.

How to Defeat Arthoc

Arthoc is a fairly tough Brute who wields a variant of the Ravager known as the Ravager Rebound. This essentially allows plasma shots from a Ravager to bounce off any surface before they impact and explode, in a similar way that the Cindershot functions. This makes the variant more chaotic and potentially more difficult to avoid incoming fire, but it can also limit Arthoc’s ability to land precise shots. You should find it fairly easy to kill Arthoc with almost any weapon, since all you need to do is deplete his energy shield and then aim for the head to remove his helmet. You can then kill Arthoc in one hit with a headshot. The main challenge comes when trying to face Arthoc while most of his allies are alive to support him, so try to deplete their numbers before you focus on Arthoc.

Although you can kill Arthoc with any weapon so long as you hit a precise headshot, you can make the fight much shorter if you use a powerful weapon such as the Sentinel Beam, or the Gravity Hammer as a melee option.
