The Splorch has some similarities to the Lava Bubble, as it is a living ball of lava, but those end there. Instead of just hopping in and out of the lava, the Splorch will come out and roll around, chasing your character. As they roll around, they leave behind a trail of lava that can hurt you. You can’t touch them at all, but any of the power-ups can knock back the Splorch. While you can knock it back into the lava, it doesn’t truly defeat the Splorch. The only way to do that is with a Super Star or any of the other invincibility items.
