Toads have been a staple of the Mario franchise since the first Super Mario Bros, but they have gained a more diverse role in the games in recent years. The Blue Toad, in particular, seems to be a little different than the rest of them, since most Toads use a red color. However, the Toad in this game is not the same Blue Toad that was a playable character in New Super Mario Bro. Wii. Instead, this is the main Toad character, who is Peach’s attendant, and also the same Toad that made his playable appearance in Super Mario Bro. 2.
As for Super Mario 3D World, Toad’s biggest claim to fame is that he’s the fastest character on the roster. This speed allows him to finish levels much more quickly than anyone else, which can be a huge boon on those levels that have short time limits. Of course, the downside to his high speed is that Toad cannot jump very well, at all. He has the shortest jump in the game, plus he also falls the fastest while in the air.
