How to Complete the Rampage Muspelheim Trial in God of War Ragnarok

The Rampage Muspelheim trial should be among the easiest for most players. All you have to do is kill at least 20 enemies within the time limit of 150 seconds. This is easily doable so long as you’re making full use of the skills and abilities available to you. The enemies that you’ll be fighting during this trial include Wisps, Reavers, Ogres, Draugrs, Grims, and Bergsra. The trial will begin with a few waves of the easiest enemies, which include the Ravers, Draugr, Grims, and Wisps, before introducing one or more Ogres and Bergsra. You shouldn’t have any trouble with the easier enemies, just remember to shoot the Wisps with your companion’s arrows first (either Atreus or Freya), since this is the only way to make them vulnerable to your melee attacks for a few seconds.

Time Limit Number of Enemies Enemy Types
150 seconds 20 Wisps, Reavers, Ogres, Draugrs, Grims, Bergsra

The Ogre and Bergsra are very similar creatures, but the Bergsra is arguably the more difficult to deal with. It’s generally more aggressive than the Ogre and it can inflict more damage in a short space of time. It’s also more difficult to stun the Bergsra, since it’s more resistant to both staggering and stun damage. If you manage to stun the Ogre, you can stun grab it to climb on its shoulders and then use it to hit other enemies while you hit it yourself. This is can be an entertaining way of killing multiple enemies, but it’s not necessarily the most efficient. If you’re having trouble killing the enemies within the time limit, you should probably avoid doing this and opt for using Runic Attacks instead.

As a general rule, you should reserve the use of Runic Attacks and any abilities from Relics / Sword Hilts until the Ogre and Bergsra arrive. You can then spam all of your most damaging attacks to kill these larger elite beasts as quickly as possible. All of the other enemies should take no more than a single melee combo attack to kill. You will notice that some of the Reavers wield shields, and they can enter a block stance which makes them invulnerable to light or heavy attacks. This is indicated by concentric blue circles which appear around the Reaver whenever they use the shield stance, and it can be easily broken by double tapping DualSense-L1 to use your shield ability.

The most important thing in this trial is killing the Ogre and Bergsra as quickly as possible, but you will also need to be careful to avoid their most damaging attacks. Most of their attacks can be blocked or parried, but keep an eye out for their red ring attacks, which can only be dodged or interrupted with Runic Attacks, or the use of an appropriate Relic / Sword Hilt. The Hilt of Gram is an excellent choice for this, since it interrupts most special attacks from enemies while also inflicting stun damage and providing you with a rage boost.

(1 of 4) Be sure to hit Wisps with arrows first to make them vulnerable to melee attacks.
