Missions in Final Fantasy XIII are various hunts throughout Pulse, introduced in Chapter 11. Missions can be undertaken by examining an active Cie’th stone. Once a hunt is accepted, the Mark will appear on the map as a pink star. Only one mission can be activated at a time, and accepting a mission before completing another will automatically cancel the previously accepted mission. You can choose to cancel a current mission by examining the Cie’th stone related to that mission. Missions can also be repeated, which is useful when trying to obtain the L’Cie Paragon trophy. Note that the rewards can only be obtained upon first completing a mission. Repeating a mission will only yield normal CP and a secondary prize. Marks are rated “D” through “A”, D being the easiest and A being the most difficult.

Six people, from very different backgrounds, get thrown together in a series of tumultuous events. A Pulse fal'Cie (a demi-god) has been found in the seaside town of Bodhum, a place where the fates of everyone converge and the discovery sets in motion a chain of events that will change the world forever. An innocent fireworks display in the town soon turns nasty when government soldiers storm the peaceful celebration and commit everyone to the Purge (sending individuals "contaminated" by the Pulse fal'Cie into exile). This is where your story and legend begins. Can you fight fate?
