A sahagin infestation threatens the steppe chocobos who roost at the Font of Namva—those gentle souls I've known since I was a child! The great and merciful fal'Cie heard my plea, and granted me the power to save them, I may never again be able to feel the warmth of their golden down, but I can think of no happier way to spend eternity than watching over them from the water's edge.
We cleared the blockage in the longer canyon by completing the fight in Mission 12 - which is handy as we now need to head deep into that canyon near to the end in order to reach the mark. As you approach the stone you will see that the path beyond it is no longer blocked - so head on into the narrow canyon extension. When you reach the very back of the extension you trigger a Scene. We are now in a wide area at the end of the canyon - there is a save point near by that you can try to use, but when you try to use it moving near it triggers another cut scene that initiates the mission fight!
Not a terribly difficult battle, but a pretty significant one. Sahagins come in a group with other water-affiliated foes, and thus are weak to fire and thunder attacks. Set up your defense and offense accordingly and it shouldn’t be too tough to complete.
Note: Completing this mission **** awards you the ability to ride Chocobos! The Chocobos can ascend to high ledges that your party can’t reach. Most of the Chocobo-aided areas also have teleports you can open inside them – but the speed and enemy-dodging skills will come in handy.
