Like the chapter before, this map also has sand, so movement is reduced. When you reach the courtyard, however, movement will resume as normal.
There are several forts along the way to the courtyard; these will be useful as you proceed. Move in groups, units paired up for protection. Be wary of the reinforcements that will appear from behind you near the starting point of the level; you do not want to be sandwiched on both sides!
Again, keep enemy unit movement ranges in mind. Libra, an NPC, will join you when you talk to him with Chrom. He should do fairly well in protecting himself in the meantime. He will move himself toward Chrom to talk to him, so you do not actually have to go toward him.
To get Tharja, you have to speak to her with Chrom as well, but just be careful not to kill her! She speaks a little at the start of the Enemy’s first turn, so keep where she is in mind.
After the map, you will be given a choice. Whatever you choose will not change the outcome; it’s just a choice of flavor.
